great bbq and micro-brewed beer!. needless to say, the knuckle head a few posts back was having a bad day and he needed to take it out on someone....... what a maroon.

lagerheads has absolutely wonderful bbq and micro-brewed beers. the atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly and the "abbey tripel" ale is to die for. truly a wonderful local restaurant.

lagerheads is a great, little restaurant, and the crowds agree. it has become challenging to get a table. however, the beers and ale are first rate as are the menu items. this is one of those restaurants that you really enjoy visiting.

so, let’s just start this by saying that i’m not sure if it’s a blessing or a punishment that the places we really, really like are no where near our house. honestly, though, lager head’s is pretty much nowhere near anything. except horses, large open spaces, and country roads that for once aren’t named “granger.” this place is seriously like a farmland oasis of bbq and beer, rising up out of the pastures and cornfields. but very well worth the find.

definitely a hidden gem in medina. we lived here for years before we discovered. casual dining, not bad to bring little ones. my boys say these are the best wings around. great micro brews too

sorely disappointed. we were excited to finally make it here after hearing a lot of hype. the smell of smoky meat in the gravel parking lot was intoxicating. the place wasn't very busy for lunch on a weekend. all of the staff members were very nice and accommodating.

our group had several different items that we all shared. our appetizer of the beer cheese soup was disappointing. it was $5 for a shallow bowl of gooey processed cheese. i would not order this again. the sauerkraut balls were very good.

the pulled pork did not have much flavor, but their bbq sauce was excellent and made the pulled pork worthwhile. i had the lager melt which is their signature sandwich. it is brisket covered in mushrooms, onions and cheese. my first bite was all fat. and there was plenty more on this sandwich. the cheese again was processed bright orange goo. the bread, mushrooms and onions were fine. my wife had the ribs. while they were meaty, they were way overcooked and tough to eat. again, what a disappointment from a "bbq" place. the fries were just okay, and the onion rings were very good. the hush puppies were not good.

they have their own beers but also offer some others. we wanted to try their beer, of which they offered about 8. i told the server my top 2 choices and she said they were out of both... not good. i tried their new octoberfest. it was good, but it was my third choice. their barnburner ale was also good.

i would not go back to lager heads given the choice. people seem to love it and i don't know why. maybe its hard to find good food in smaller towns like medina.

really, really good!. this place is amazing. great site-brewed beer, great bbq and great service. if you are anywhere near medina, you have to try it. i am not going to go on about this and that...it is a roadhouse (just expect that ambiance) that just delivers the goods on a consistent basis.

one little thing, some sauce with the onion rings and the fried tomatoes would be nice. something zesty (did i just use the word zesty?) with some cayenne pepper would be tasty.

hello..... well i am not sure where "thingfiz" ate at, but it was not lager heads in medina ohio. i happen to frequent the restaurant and know the menu and beer list pretty well. if "thingfiz" is a true restaurant reviewer then he has much to learn about bbq and brewing beer. lager heads actually has done many rib burn offs, including strongsville (1st place sauce), huron (3 time rib and sauce champion), bay city michigan (2nd place sauce and ribs)...last year, in the first year of brewing beer, lager heads won a bronze medal and sivler medal at the international beer fest at the ix center in cleveland. so with a resume like that....who is kidding who? lager heads beer is spot on, the descriptions are written by a "brew master" (you don't get that in a craker jack box), and they are being distributed all around the state. i know a ton of people that drive from akron, massilon, cleveland, and even columbus just to get the bbq and beer. "thingfiz" better stick to what ever he is good at, not rating and trashing a very good restaurant. btw the special ingredient in the coleslaw is dill you dip stick...how hard is that to figure out! hope you are still employed by dickies next week!

what color is the sky in your world?. reading all the great reviews and decided this place was a must. right from the start i should have known. this restaurant makes their own brews, about seven i believe. we ordered the sampler tray and compared each to the descriptions on the beer guide. needless to say the descriptions were not even close to what they actually tasted like. i detected zero malt flavoring in any of the brews. i can appreciate a sam adams with all its hops but these brews were down right terrible. maybe that was why most of the customers were drinking bud light from bottles when we walked in?
i ordered the brisket dinner which was listed as open faced with onion rings and gravy. second mistake. why smoke brisket for 14 hours just to cover with gravy? obviously the gravy hides just how dried out and over cooked the meat is. i asked for no gravy but with some bbq sauce on the side. no problem. both of the bbq sauces were over-powered with cinnamon to the point of almost gag.
the wife ordered the combo with ribs, brisket, pulled pork and two wings. her meal was just as bad as mine. dried out and covered with the taste of cinnamon. neither of us could figure out the mystery ingredient in the coleslaw and i'm not sure i want to know.
the choice was between dickey's bbq down the road or lager heads. we made the wrong choice. next time we want bbq it will be dickey's.
call me a bbq junkie. call lager heads junkie bbq. i'm $54 bucks lighter and a little smarter.
don"t waste your money !!!

excellent place. lager heads has excellent chicken wings!!!!! that is their specialty. on mondays they have a special that you can get a full order of wings for $3.00 off the regular price. this restaurant also makes their own beer. it is simply wonderful the beer that they make there. the chicken wings melt right in your mouth & i will guarantee once you try these wings you will not just want to order just a half order of these. in october only they have a pumpkin cheesecake that is out of this world. it tastes like the new york cheesecake that you get in new york city. they also have other specialties but their wings are great!!!

excellent wings. we went here for dinner & ordered chicken wings & the sloppy bbq with cole slaw & fries. everything was very good. the beef was very high quality meat. the only bad thing that i did not like was the french fries. they are greasy. everything else is very good & well worth your spending dollar. i have also had their blt. that is absolutely fantastic. they load up the sandwich with alot of bacon, & it is the good bacon, not the cheap stuff. i highly recommend the blt & the chicken wings with the mild sauce. you will not go wrong if you order either one of these.

nice place & good food. we went to lager head this evening, anticipating to just have a beer. they gave us a menu & we chose the chicken wings (mild), & i got the beer cheese soup. my fiance said the chicken wings were absolutely fantastic!!!! he usually does not like wings but they give you the whole wing & all with this. it came out like char broiled, & he said that he wished he ordered 3 more. of course they are messy to eat but they give you the hand wipes & alot of napkins. all the food there is very good. i would advise anyone to stop there. it is in abbeyville oh. i do not think you will be sorry you stopped in there.

chicken wings. just now returning from an enjoyable meal and great beer.
the smoked chicken wings are superb and the hefeweizen and ipa were spot on.
i finished my meal with some pumpkin cheesecake that was simply decadent.

the place is spotlessly clean, including the "mens room".

it is now entered into my gps, and i will return.
