very good new york style pizza! most people wouldn't even find this place it's that small, but my god their pizza is as close to brooklyn as you can get. it's almost on the corner of hanley and delmar across the street from pasta house. the only drawback is that they don't deliver but it's worth going there to get it yourself.

we drove 30 miles each way for their pizza, would happily drive twice that.. we are getting tired of pi & wanted some real pizza. after some digging we saw that stl mag gave la pizza the best pizza in stl. it was a 30 mile drive from imperial but was well worth it. the only "new york style pizza" we've had is domino's delivery, usually after we've opened the second bottle of wine & we're not driving or cooking.

this was some of the best pizza we've had of any style. we ordered the roberto which is packed with like 5-6 different kinds of meat & it was just so good. my wife & i ordered an 18" & we will get 2 full meals out of it. if you eat more than 2 slices of the 18", you need to get checked for a tapeworm.

the ingredients are so fresh, the sauce is the best i've had anywhere & the home made hand tossed crust is incredible. somehow with 5-6 meats on a pizza it was not greasy at all, any other pizza i've had with that much meat would be greasy, some i've dabbed it off the top with a napkin. i asked who i assume is the owner how they did this and he told me all their meats arrived uncooked, they are coked in house & the grease is extracted. the service was great & the food was even better.

don't let the outside fool you, it honestly looks a little dumpy but i felt the neighborhood was completely safe. it's just an older building. once inside the place is very clean & basic. they don't seem to have a liquor license, but have a good selection of soft drinks. it seemed like most of the other customers were regulars, with the quality of the food & the great attitude of the employees i'm sure they have many regulars.

it was well worth our 30 mile one way drive, i would drive further for pizza this good. they also have sandwiches & other food, but i don't know if could order anything else but the pizza. even if you have to drive 50 miles each way to get here, if you love good pizza you owe it to yourself to give it a try. we will be back.

terrible service, followed by bad food. i had heard many raving reviews for la pizza. i went the other night, and was "greeted" by the most surly, rude employee i have come across in ages. he wouldn't speak to me, or look at me. i had to prompt him to take my to-go order after standing in front of him for a few minutes. he wrote down the order, then said "20 minutes" and walked away. we were the only ones in the store. in the meantime, other people came in and ordered and got their food. after 45 minutes, i went back to the counter, where he ignored me again. i prompted him, "do you know when our order will be ready?". he didn't look at me, but said "next one up". we finally got our food. when i got home and unwrapped it - the order was wrong! too late to worry about it, we ate what we were given. we thought both the pizza and the calzone were really bad. even my 7 & 10 year olds said they thought the pizza was "horrible". terrible experience all around! never going again!

hole in the wall place. nothing to look at from the outside but don't let that deter you. ordered the deluxe meat pizza, side salad, and cheesy garlic bread. awesome on all accounts. mom and pop place where you are treated like a neighbor. will be back. just read it's one of the top 15 in stl, it didn't disappoint at all and does live up to the article.

no questions: best pizza in st louis. my friend introduced me to this place a couple months ago when i was visiting st. louis. this is by far the best pizza i've had.
the crust is amazing and homemade dough made daily
the sauce is perfect and the cheese and toppings they use are fresh and quality.
it's a family run business, and they are as friendly as could be.

you will not find a better pizza place in missouri.

you're welcome.

i'd heard a great deal about how great la pizza was, and numerous reviews online brag about how it's the best nyc-style pizza in town. it's a wonder it's taken me this long to actually try it out, but i had high expectations going in.

dirty and poor service. i have heard good reviews about this place. i could not have been more disappointed by the rude person at the counter as well as the dirty tables that were not cleaned as i waited for a seat. i ended up taking my pizza to go but the pizza was undercooked. go to dewey's!

great pizza, don't be surprised by toppings. this pizza is fabulous! i struggle with my opinion about the toppings. i thought the toppings were skimpy, but then the flavors were perfect. so i struggle because i would have liked more toppings distributed across the pizza, but i can't argue with the composition of flavor that hits the tongue.
