the food is delicious. but whatever you do, don't order a table salad. r220 for the displeasure. rather order two starters to share instead.

great atmosphere, great service, great location - pity about the food. had tuna steak - specifically asked for it to be very lightly seared - arrived well done, asked for it to be re-done, came back slightly less overcooked but still heavily overcooked for tuna!!! not sure how one gets that wrong.... will be back - just not my fav italian restaurant.

i hadn't been to ciro's in years but was glad to try it again.
very nice for special occasions, we went for our 2 year anniversary. definitely wouldn't be able to eat this way often but
the food is delicious with very interesting combinations and flavors.
make sure you go hungry as you will definitely want to try 3 courses!
i had the corn fritter as a starter = amazing
the sirloin with wild mushroom as a main = best sauce i have ever eaten
and the tasting platter for dessert = lovely!

a bit more on the expensive side but most definitely worth a visit! intimate little restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. waiters are superb and attentive. the owner came to check on us a few times and we even met the head chef. food was brilliant! well prepared and thought out, beautifully presented and great flavour combinations. really enjoyed my experience here and will most certainly be returning. they go out of their way to make your dining experience a very personal and enjoyable one.

i visited la cucina di ciro for lunch a while ago on the recommendation of a friend.  strangely, we were one of only 2 tables there, but that made it nice and quite - the tables would have been far too close together if the restaurant had been full.  the menu had a good selection of starters and mains, which were augmented by a great list of specials delivered by the chef. i went for one of the specials to start - deep fried aubergine with parma ham (and all sorts of other things that i can't remember offhand).  it was absolutely delicious and a generous portion for a starter.

for mains, i went for the stuffed quail with sage buttered pasta. the quail was absolutely delicious and the sultana and pecan stuffing complimented it perfectly. the pasta was cooked al dente, as it should be, and was delicious. i'm not sure it was the right fit for the quail though and suspect a creamy mash or perhaps polenta would have been a better fit. that said, i still thoroughly enjoyed it and the portion size was again very generous.

the dessert menu was a little disappointing  in terms of uniqueness and could certainly use a bit of a modern flair. the desserts we ordered were still great, but not quite at the standard of the rest of the meal.

the service we received was good, without being anything special. our waitress was polite and attentive, but i can't imagine she knew much about the food or could make any wine-pairing suggestions and i suspect we would have needed to get ciro back if we had any queries.

i would certainly return to ciro's, but would again probably visit at lunch as i enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.  the food  is expensive, but well worth the money.

anyone planning a visit should note that they have very limited parking and if you are there in the evening, you will have to park at the shopping center down the road.

this is a high-end restaurant, scoring highly in zomato and competing with the likes of thomas maxwell, wombles and the such. expectations were high.

it starts off well, looking beautiful and quaint from the street. it's downhill once you enter.

we immediately noticed the atmosphere. as my girlfriend put it "this feels like the place you go to sign your divorce papers". it is heavily lit and the tables are very close together - the waiter was the happiest person in the restaurant.

despite being happy and personable, the waiter ignored our table, often forgetting requests and clearly not trained to the level required at such an establishment.

this would all be okay if the food was extraordinary. it is not. while the ingredients are clearly of a high quality the creation was mundane and uninspired (we had the baked salmon and the chorizo pasta).

the chef / owner (as he never introduced himself) has a set monologue when pronouncing the specials. do not interrupt him.

we went out for an evening of celebration. we got a depressive, expensive and mundane restaurant.

it's always good and has a lovely setting. it really comes into it's own on a still summer's day or evening when it's lovely to sit outside under a huge tree.
the owner is always around to welcome you and to explain the dishes.
the menu changes regularly and is always interesting.
its not the cheapest restaurant but then it is above average. the wine prices i think are certainly on the high side.
parking inside is limited but there is a security guard outside to keep an eye on your car.
at worst i think this restaurant is a 4 out of 5.

heard great reviews about this restaurant. however i find it too claustrophobic sitting on top of one another listening to other peoples conversations. we went for my girlfriends birthday... starter ( beet root carpaccio) was amazing, main course ( smoked lamb tossed in a pasta dish) was average. service was acceptable... this is a very classy restaurant from which i expected more!
