i wanted to try this restaurant for a long time but was very skeptic to go this restaurant because usually japanese cuisine has very less veg options( yogiyanukku iruttula enna velai). so finally i went here and here is my 2 cents
1. ambience - tick oo tick
2. hospitality - tick oo tick
3. sevice - ok ok . your patience will be tested. better order all at once.
4. taste - sooper oo sooper. i ordered veg gyoza and veg ramen and they both tasted good. the ramen could have been better though.
5. amount - quarter kidney 😉 worth the try

ps: don't order sarakku here.. it's very expensive.

wanted to try this restaurant since a long time.. as the reviews proved it to he authentic japanese.. the food was good the serving style, decor and hospitality was very close to the japanese style.. makis were top notch..
the veg. tempura was oily and tasted more like bhajji and not tempura.. taste was good though
the ramen was a turn off though as the broth was of chicken.. japanese broth is usualy of red meat bone due to the high gelatin content for a thicker mouth feel which chicken cant create. also they did not have salmon and tuna in any of the sushis which is like a staple of any japanese restaurant..
probably wouldnt try again..

this is one of the best japanese restaurants i have ever been to in chennai. i ordered the ebi tempura, chicken skewers, kuuraku ramen & garlic chicken rice. all the dishes were exceptionally tasty. loved the ambience, service and privacy while dining.

just wow! ordered the negima tare (chicken skewers with leek in tare sauce), the yakitori don (chicken rice bowl), the teppan gyoza (chicken momos/dumpling (half). excellent taste and great packaging! they sent a beautiful handwritten note which was special! thank you all at kuuraku! we’ll surely be ordering soon from here again! keep up the great work!

had lunch here on a saturday. we were cordially welcomed by staff with japanese greetings as we entered the restaurant.

menu is filled with hard to pronounce japanese names but it was easy to figure out what ingredients were used.

chopsticks were given which i tried and failed miserably. for starters we ordered wasabi yaki, butabara and tori kushi course. butabara was amazing.

tompei yaki was lip-smacking good! so we ordered another one. their ramen noodles and ebi tempura were good.

overall dining experience was great. kuuraku is a good restaurant serving japanese cuisine in chennai.

except for the higher price the quality of the food is excellent. you will start loving chicken dishes even if you aren’t a chicken fan. 😃

kuuraku

two sunday’s ago, planned to visit this place on my birthday for lunch and must say we loved it a lot..

so here it goes my 150th review 1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣👌🏻

we started off with a tequila sunrise🍹 and a mojito 🍸reasonable price and was coool.
slowly moved onto assorted yakitori set (tori kushi course) it had 5 skewers of which were cheese, wasabi, seaweed, teriyaki and garlic mayo.. wasabi and seaweed were really
g🤩🤩d.
teppan gyoza with kuuraku ramen 🍜 - a kuuraku spl here .. it’s a combo of grilled dumplings and ramen that’s got a poached egg and a big chunk of pork with soupy ramen in it.
chicken nanban it’s a fried chicken with tarar sauce - wanna try something diff wrap the chicken with the lettuce 🥬 and dip it in the sauce , so goooood..
chicken katsu curry 🍛 a personal favourite here a must try dish from them, it’s chicken curry with japneese sticky rice with a fried chicken steak laid on top of the rice 🍚 yummy tummy 🤤
all of this 2 drinks + 2 starters + 2 main course with zomato pro used didn’t take more than 3.5k 😲
ambience wise this place gives you the same feel like as if we’re in a japan 🇯🇵
you can either take the table or choose the private cabins even if it’s gonna be just
2️⃣ ppl.
a must try place for everyone whose keen to try something new!!

loved this place,
