krishna vaishno dhaba

i visited here with my family. we ordered north indian as well as south indian food and it was horrible. i haven’t eaten sambhar worse than what i had here. dal makhni and shahi paneer were poor too. i think post-covid, the staff has changed which has resulted in the poor quality.

we reached this place around lunch time and we had to wait for a couple of minutes to get a seat. this definitely seemed like a popular eating place.

despite the rush the service was quite quick. we had ordered rice + rajma butter fry. it was very delicious. i also became a fan of the complimentary green chutney they were serving with all the dishes.

this place is best in srinagar for vegetarian food.

krishna vaishno dhaba – based nearby dal gate is perhaps the most famous pure veg dhaba of srinagar and we paid them a visit to see if this place is worth the hype or not!
to start off, the place was already over-crowded, and we somehow found a seat for ourselves – a big family stood “outside” the restaurant with only tables placed in front of them and food served atop i.e. they stood and ate – this explains how famous the place is!
we ordered their shahi paneer, rajma fry, tandoori roti and roasted papad - onion salads and mixed pickles came complimentary!
taste-wise no issues and service was fine as well – and don’t forget the reasonable prices! but food quality has gone for a toss – the dalda based curries were somewhat unhealthy and caused severe discomfort and acidity to all of us! maybe desi ghee based preparation along with enhanced prices (obviously) can be a better option!
their pickles deserve a standing ovation – simply excellent!
hygiene of the place can be improved though – the place is pretty small and they can consider expansion if possible!

people dying for pathetic food and pathetic service. if you are 2 pax you will be forced to sit with two strangers or else you can leave. such places are just hyped up and nothing else. even the owner saying yaha toh aise he chalega aap dekhlo khana khao no toh jao.

food is too tasty but qty is very less..... should have good qty. must say for veg food lovers this is the best place to visit. approx rs 300 pp

very bad food with too much oil in every gravy and 0 taste. gave feedback to manager also.

overrated... since its a old pure veg restaurant in srinagar. better try vishal dabha next to krishna for better taste.

dhal makhni one of my favorite..

krishna vaishno dhaba is probably the most famous vegetarian dhaba/restaurant in srinagar.

if you have been to srinagar as a tourist, then it's highly likely that you have visited this dhaba.

the south indian food served at the dhaba is below average, but north indian food is what you should definitely order.

rajma chawal butter fry is a must try! the items that i recommend are:

1. shahi paneer
2. aloo paratha
3. masala bhindi
4. paneer paratha
5. kadhi pakoda

i also tried their chilli paneer which i did not like at all.

if you make a trip to srinagar, then you should definitely visit krishna vaishno dhaba regardless you being a vegetarian or not.

this place sucks like it's name! sad to see such names in kashmir

gives 'thet dhaba' like experience. cordial staff. simple, hygienic and tasty food with light flavours without much spices or oil. moderate to small portions. nice and crispy rotis, straight from oven. rajma chawal butter fry is the delicacy that all vegitarians will savour.

this place is quite famous in srinagar. people come here for pure veg food. the place is always full. we ordered roti and malai kofta. kofta was too hard i was afraid it would break if i try to break it. the gravy pretty ok. well the server was kind enough to replace the dish. we had sada dosa , it was good and sambar was ok. next we ordered was sweet lassi really tasty. and mix paratha that was very nice too. parathas are really good. service was good being it was so full . one can surely try this place for veg food . and it is complete value for money.

it's quite a nice place for vegetarians. the food quality is impressive. i have tried dal makhni, rajma chawal, shahi paneer with lassi there, and all of them tasted good. and the service is quick too.

when we reached srinagar from gulmarg we stopped in here for lunch..this place is about 5mins away from dal lake..

we ordered kashmiri dum aloo, rajma butter fry, curd, lassi and rotis..

the sabjis were decent..

lassi was good too..

service was quick..and prices are pretty cheap!!

we had some lovely rajma chawal fry and dum aaloo here! would definitely like to go back 😊 they had a good selection of vegetarian food as well. definitely worth visiting :)
