only/best/authentic japanese restaurant in federal way. we've been going to koharu for a long time. never disappointing, always great friendly service. our favorite restaurant in federal way.

consistent quality & great taste. i feel lucky to have this place so close to home. i come here often. the dishes are authentic homestyle japanese and the sushi fresh and reasonably priced. the chef is a certified sushi chef from japan. the lunch specials are always a great value meal, a large bento box for $10. i've been to other japanese restaurants in seattle and this is beyond comparable. it gets busy at dinner time on the weekend though.

very disappointed!. just moved here from the east coast. we went to dinner here on one of our first nights in the area. the food came out cold, and tasted horrible. we ordered chicken teriyaki, something you think would be easy to get right. it tasted as if the sauce had been added after the chicken had been cooked with no seasoning at all. it was awful. not to mention the chicken wasn't even cleaned. i don't expect to pull feathery skin out of my food, especially when i'm being charged so much for it. i ate a total of 2 bites before being too disgusted to continue. the server didn't even come over to check on us after the meal was delivered. we waited at least 30 minutes with our plates piled up before anyone assisted us.
it was absolutely not worth the price of the meal. both my boyfriend and i left very unsatisfied. we will never go back, and neither should you. save your money and appetites.

kind of a hole in the wall but they have good sushi!

overrated. i went here for valentine's day with my boyfriend. the atmosphere wasn't that nice and the food on the menu was very expensive. we ordered a tempura sushi roll ($7.00 for four oversized pieces) and then ordered a combination plate since we weren't super hungry. we got our salad that came with the combo, and the lettuce was frozen but the dressing was good. we waited a while and then got our sushi roll which was good, and then waited probably 20-30 more minutes and we never got our food and the waitress never said anything or even looked at us. the place wasnt that busy yet we felt ignored, so we left 12 bucks on the table and left. we went across the street to a more casual teriyaki/vietnamese cuisine place and were much happier!! go up to seattle if you want good sushi that is much cheaper

worth stopping! we were driving from seattle to portland, needed lunch but wanted to get out of seattle traffic. federal way was perfect. the sushi here was great - everything was fresh, high quality. service was attentive and very friendly.
