came up kings for lunch. monday lunch, sun was out and was heading to fitzroy, but the place was shut so i detoured to escape bridge rd, saw the kingston. ,looked great in the sunlight, parked right outside and walked in, was clean, warm, well lit without being too bright..
asked if the kitchen was on, and it was.
had some great areas to sit, a bar at the front, some tables at the rear, a great beer garden covered in trees and great tables, and a top up market dining area for dinner on nights.
i elected to sit by the window in the casual part of thekingstonwhere the winter sun streamed in.
looked at a great menus, and selected the porterhouse, at 25 dollars, and included was some potatoes and a salad with balsamic and parmesan cheese.
15 minutes later, my meal was promptly served, by the manager, who was polite and informative.
salad was excellent, potatoes with butter and garlic exquisite. now to the steak, i was thinking it was around the 320 to350 g mark and cooked 95 percent to how i ordered, medium rare, with some nice fat, and at least an inch thick...
was a juicy steak and could not really fault it at 25 dollars, great stop off for me..excellent satisfying steak, with excellent sides included!
had a drink, read the paper, then off to work again.
well done kingston..
