mother's day is always a special weekend for my family and i. since i am the only one that lives in the great city of milwaukee, my family tries to travel here to visit. we have a great time exploring the many things this city has to offer: museums, tours

fabulous!! we usually avoid restaurants in hotels...but this was such a delight, everything we ordered was light, fresh, flavorful. of course the pretzel buns with honey butter (complimentary) are great. our table got steak frites (a classic done very well), shrimp cavatini pasta ( so flavorful yet light), and rosemary polenta arugula fig salad (especially great), all the martinis were yummy...loved the tree-tini and rosemary drink. dessert was okay.

ordered the spicy tuna tartar (which was listed as an appetizer, but was big enough to give me just what i needed for a light lunch. the tuna was cool, fresh and bright, with just a hint of a kick (from the siracha aioli)—and hit the spot being both tasty and refreshing. tina, adam and sarah all got the peanut chicken salad, and i was the lucky benefactor of a few bites of tina’s leftovers. the chicken had a good flavor and the cabbage was crisp. the salad also had a bit of a spicy kick, with a little sweetness to finish it off, and was deceivingly filling (isn’t it great when vegetables and a little protein can make you full)

solid dining experience. been meaning to go to kil@wat for years, but usually skip hotel restaurants. glad we finally tried it. restaurant was not busy on a friday nght, which is a shame. i bet rock bottom brewery or any other pubgrub place in milwaukee was packed. but this would be a perfect place to go before or after a show at pabst, the rep or riverside. my wife had i had the roasted beet salad and the special that night, clam chowder for starters. both were excellent. salmon tournado was a perfectly done entree as was the shrimp with polenta

most excellent!. you are in a top notch restaurant with a well trained chef when you don't have to season anything at the table. kil@wat is such an eatery. closed sunday evening, we discovered that the kil@wat's kitchen provides a limited menu to clear, the hotel lounge and provides room service. we enjoyed the butternut squash soup and the modern caesar salad. both were fresh and balanced. we dined at kil@wat the next day and enjoyed the well prepared mushroom pappardelle entree as well as the ny strip steak with truffled frites. this kitchen uses high quality, fresh ingrediants and prepares a distinctive menu. the prices are very reasonable and the serving sizes perfect. i'll take quality over quantity any day.

good burger. tried kil@wat during milwaukee's downtown dining week. for a $10 lunch, you get a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. the roasted red pepper soup was good, along with the pretzel rolls and honey butter. i shared a big boy burger and chicken panini with my friend. didn't finish my 1/2 of the panini, as i was full. the big boy burger was great. the classic that i remembered from working at marc's big boy. for dessert, i had a new york cheesecake, which was creamy and delicious. i certainly would pay a second visit to kil@wat.
