authentic and true to the expectation set by a simple but impressive menu.
definitely worth a couple of visits to try the extensive flavours.

took my mum here for the first time and she had enjoyed the meal we had. despite the limited and uncomfortable seating's, the food was delicious and some dishes are quite different to the traditional dishes we usually find at a thai restaurant. 
i was surprised that the portions were a little bit small than expected, in comparison to my favourite thai restaurant in the city, which serves dishes at similar prices (more or less). 
however, because chatswood is close to us to get to on days we are too lazy to go out to the cbd we will definitely be coming back here! 
i wish they did deliveries further north of the area stretching up to gordon. hopefully in the near future!!

pretty average. i've had worse, but i've had a lot better too.

i’ll start with the good - i ordered the chicken cashew stir fry which was great, and my friends enjoyed their dishes as well. the highlight was definitely the dessert - black sticky rice and thai milk ice cream. that was delicious! overall, the food was very good in comparison to many other thai places around.

what’s stopping me from giving 5 stars is the service. the dishes came out haphazardly - i didn’t receive my meal until all the others finished theirs. the waitstaff also seemed very keen to get everyone in and out as fast as possible - not entirely a bad thing but made us feel rushed when deciding to order.

bad service by the male owner who told us that they don't give small bowls for sharing. then he threw one small bow for us and walked off. all dishes were very slow to cone out.
although food was good but with the attitude like that we are not coming back.

i ordered chicken pad thai and fried chicken last week. the fried chicken was juicy and succulent and i enjoyed a lot. definitely worth a try.

the deep fried soft shell crab with tom yum spice salt at khao pla has an enjoyable crunch and good flavour, although i found it became increasingly salty as i plowed through the pieces.

first time visiting khao pla and can't wait to return. cool ambience about the place and it filled up fast after about 12pm. cheap lunch menu with plenty of choice. i ordered the gaeng keaw wan from the regular menu and it was incredible. pretty spicy but refreshing. the flavours were perfect and the serving size was spot on.

really popular thai restaurant in chatty - a bit overrated imo.
i like how you can just leave your name and number and they then call you once your table is ready. service was decent until they forgot about one of the dishes we ordered.
i was too hungry to take photos but ordered the spicy papaya salad, pad thai, and a dish with pork belly + veggies (i didn’t try this one but my mate said it was delicious).
the pad thai was a bit too sweet and the noods were overcooked. if you like chilli (like me) i highly recommend the salad ✨🌶 💕🥗 💯 definitely the stand out dish here

a very small place, so expect some queuing if you do not make a reservation. service was great. and food was amazing! we tried the banana blossom salad, pork ribs, green chicken curry and we absolutely love everything! to close off, we tried the black sticky rice with thai milk tea ice cream. a recommended dish, you should definitely try it!

waited an hour and a half in line with my nine month pregnant wife, to then be rudely told we had been skipped ahead of because we hadn't specified if we wanted a window seat or not. when we got a seat, we received average thai that you would be better off going to your local for.

i dont normally hunt thai food. khao pla, though, has me coming back again n again for more. either for a quick dine-in or takeaways. these guys got me hooked. and i havent even gone thru all their offerings yet😆. good times ahead (i hope).

pla dip, salmon sashimi thai salad 4/5, gotta eat this to believe it.

banana blossom 2.75/5, ok the only 'blemish' as was in chum tang, its friendly companion store, more down to personal taste. so shoot me.

wok fried pla pad cha, fish fillet w ginger eggplant chilli basil kaffir lime 4.25/5, not a big fan of cilantro/eggplant. but again, khao pla just continues to defy my personal preferences😤. i can have this everyday. btw they use a round raw type of eggplant; wren eggplant. bite size, crunchy w a wee of bitter tinge at the end.

khao pad cha, southern style prawn fried rice 4/5, sounds so simple. was dithering between this n the sriracha fried rice but went w the lovely lady's recommendation.

tom yum wings 3/5, ahhh a case of siblings' rivalry going on here. chum tang has it hands down i am afraid but khao pla's version is still up there enough for me to re-order.

review based on multiple visits, dine in n takeaways. service can be patchy at times so if that's your thing, go away. make the q shorter here😜.

my favourite thai. im not thai nor have i ever been to thailand so i am probably the worst judge of this. but to me, this is the best thai in town. i think it's best to eat it as i would be skeptical about two of my favourite dishes being take away: beef tartare and raw scallops. it's a casual asian eatery with byo so don't expect service to blow you away but the food is superb. love it. the queues most evenings should speak for itself i guess.

i felt that i haven't been treated well, your staff being rough to be when she was providing service to me! bad service!
