seriously, with the not helpful dislikes because of someones opinion. let's be honest. sometimes you get the evil i for standing on a crack by some of the staff, but saying to go get your ice cream somewhere else is probably not fair either. some of the best "ballpark" style food you will find anywhere, and whether shake, banana split, or fudge brownie you are paying chump change in comparison to other competitors. that's just the thing though, don't forget your change! cash only! just like nikki's though, old school vibe deserves to keep things old school. plus, they have the ability to keep the prices considerably low because the soul of the company isn't being ripped out by merchant and processing fees. so yeah, great place! great ice scream ! try to tell the staff to smile more because they can look a little sour ! we all win and it's still a good review

fond memories. i have fond memories of eating at kay's castle long before it moved to it's new location. remembering on halloween nights back in the early 80's while out trick or treating, just dropping in for a free 1 dip ice cream cone. of all the things that i miss the most, is the taste of their cole slaw hot dogs. i have looked for many years for some thing close to that cole slaw taste, no luck. it has been nearly 20 years since my path in life led me to st. louis. but whenever i visit family and friends, i make sure to pay kay's a visit for a little taste of home. ty for the memories... rick.

did not have a good experience. we were the only ones in there, and were rudely yelled at not once, but twice! definitely not great costumer service.

kay's kastles is a dying breed: the old-fashioned, earnest ice cream parlor. there are no branded t-shirts or knowing winks. there are no gimmicky flavors of the month or walls of local art. this place is far removed from modern ice cream joints of chattanooga's revitalized downtown. it is nestled in the more rural reaches of soddy daisy, amongst the good people, and it still retains the characteristics that defined it in the mid-eighties. let's be clear: the staff hates you. they really, really do. they are, without question, some of the surliest people you will ever meet in food service. they hope you die; barring that, they'll grudgingly take your money and give you ice cream if they must. (how one can maintain a frowny face in a place like this i'll never know.) the experience really takes me back. they've got kitschy ice cream decor (ice cream posters, ice cream signs, ice cream ceramics), old arcade machines, and

i don't like kay's kastle!!. we went to kay's kastle the other night and had a totally bad experience. the lady got mad because we had to run to the bank and get money because we didn't know they don't except credit or debit cards. so they the lady spazzed out and went completely balistic. so if you want ice cream i suggest you not go to kay's kastle there are many other ice cream places in tennessee. p.s. i hope the ladies get mad when they see my comment.
~ thanks for letting me share~
