visited katie's restaurant & bar after seeing it on diver's, drive-ins, and dives and wasn't disappointed. since the restaurant was very busy and the wait for a table was going to be over an hour my husband and i chose to sit at the bar. the bar tender was very attentive. i had a mimosa while my husband had bloody mary and we shared half a rack of scottie's cnn blackberry & jalapeno ribs. the ribs were fall of the bone tender and the bbq sauce was lick your fingers good.

the oysters were great; however, the grilled shrimp poboy was just ok and the service was very bad.

not a fan.. i'm not a fan of this place. salad was essentially bagged spinach placed on a plate with some crumbles of blue cheese. crawfish beignet tasted like heated up frozen food. i've read the favorable reviews but that was not my experience at all. place itself is cool enough - neighborhood bar type place, but clean and sufficiently roomy. comfortable place to eat. it's just that i didn't find the food to be very good.

mmm, debris fries. the prices here are a tad more expensive than my usual dining options, but there were still several options on the menu that i could consider purchasing without wincing. as i was having a very frugal week when i went, i opted for the cheese fries with debris gravy, and i'm glad i did. they were so good! i could've had a bowl of that debris gravy and been a happy, happy girl.

the information above is incorrect. this profile says katie's takes reservations. they do not. be advised that the wait for a table is typically upward of an hour at peak dining hours. arrive very, very early and be prepared to wait a long time.

the food is really good though. if you can get a table.

wonderful! we didn't call ahead to check on times like idiots and we walked in right at closing on monday. the staff didn't bat an eye. great service and the food was fantastic! we are in town for a week and will definitely head back over to katie's before heading home.

visited katie's after seeing the restaurant on diners, drive ins, and dives and was not disappointed! the boudreaux pizza was, perhaps, the most delicious thing i've ever tasted. me and my brother ate the whole pizza by ourselves it was that good. looking forward to going back!

neighborhood gem in midcity. visited katie's for the 1st time saturday. as a local, it is great to find another spot for traditional & delicious new orleans fare done well. the place was packed, so we grabbed a nice table outside. fans to keep the air moving are a nice touch. travis the manager recommended the chargrilled oysters and the crawfish beignet. glad we took his advice! i kept the menu close-by, thinking these dishes wouldn't be enough. the beignet was larger than expected and so rich & filling. the oysters were perfect with sizzling cheese and garlic. can't wait to return to try more of the menu.

the worst ever. we visited katie's against my wife's better judgement after reading about the poor service on yelp and urban spoon. we stopped by on tuesday at 1pm and stood inside the front door for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. we were sat by 1:30 and ordered around 1:45. our waitress was a mess, and apparently screwed up our order. i saw our seafood platter was sitting under the heat lamps for about 15 minutes before the waitress brought it at the same time our crawfish beignet appetizer around 2:15. all the of the food was terrible. it was a $55 lunch with one appetizer and one entree (the prices in the restaurant did not match the prices listed online), and it was complete crap. the place was packed and apparently not hurting for customers... how does a place like this stay in business?

great atmosphere and great neighborhood location! we had the garlic feta fries and crawfish beignets as an appetizer. both were amazing! i had the crabby couple poboy as an entree. i've definitely had better, next time i'll get something else but i will definitely be back!

katies have nice set up for neighborhood restuarant, however service was horrible. food ok nothing to brag about. waiter drop food off and never returned. lots of flys to share your lunch.

went for sunday brunch. there was an hour and a half wait for a table. we had crabby eggs, crawfish beignet, eggs cochon, pimms cup, and white sangria. all of our food was delicious and the drinks were great! our waitress was wonderful and super friendly. great service for being so busy. will definitely return. our friends say the ribs are awesome.
