great steaks, and great seafood! the food makes up where the atmosphere lacks.

good food. i can see why the previous review said color matters. there were some comments made to us and we were only there to pick up our food to go. the food was great and my husband prefers i don't leave a review at all but we won't go back. hats off to the cooks unfortunately the crowd that is allowed there and it attract does not respect all humankind

i like this place. a real family appeal lots of smiles and laughter. great music on most nights. love the tuna here. really fast and friendly service from the bar to the food servers. i will be back!!!

love kathryn's, actually got engaged here!! they have amazing fried green tomatoes with crab cakes, and the steaks are delicious. will be going back for special occasions!

one of the best food places ever & that's saying a lot we travel quite often, las vegas, florida many others.
we had red fish. i had it with shrimp.. there are many ways it is cooked here... my husband had a different red fish.. it was excellent as well.. hot, quick, sauces are excellent..
our waiter was the best, feel like we have known him for years.. taylor.. very attentive.. always checking on us...perfect experience .. enjoyed music.
on our list to go back to every time we visit jackson, ms😊

skin color matters here!!!!!. i just left here and it was an awful experience! my husband and i went for a nice meal and to listen to live music. things took a turn for the worse once we sat down and the table next to us openly and loudly began throwing out racial slurs repeatedly. when confronted, the gentlemen who said it the most had no remorse for his words nor did anyone else at the table. after speaking with management we were offered a free meal but the table was allowed to stay in the restaurant. my husband and i do not need a free meal but value our dignity much more therefore we left due to the ownership of this establishment finding this behavior acceptable.

redfish is actually tilapia!. we love the prime rib but decided to try the redfish tonight for takeout. much to our surprise and disappointment, we were served $25-$26 tilapia. we eat redfish frequently and very much know the difference. however, whenever i called to complain, i was told that they don't serve tilapia! wow! really expected more from this fine establishment.

my husband & i went to kathryn's specifically for the soft shell crab. we drove from crystal springs just for this only to be told" oh we haven't had those for at least a year!" my husband was terribly upset because that's what he knew i wanted. we settled for the prime rib which was exactly how we ordered it. it was good but not outstanding. don't order the sautéed green beans. they were definitely canned. definitely not worth the price. and update your menu people!!!

one of ridgelands best!. i absolutely love the sunday special prime rib! it's probably the most flavorful and tender piece of meat i've eaten. the accompaniments or side dishes are always plentiful and seasoned perfectly. even the fried bread is delicious! everyone go and give this gem in ridgeland a try. you won't be disappointed.

great prime rib. my wife and i always get our usual fabulous variety of redfish dishes, but today she switched and got the prime rib special. needless to say i had to taste it and nearly ate half of her food! it was just that good! i've got a new favorite at kathryn's.

pretty good, actually!. the reviews below and some experiences from a few people i know had kept me away from kathryn's but a relative of my father's recommended it to my father often. since i live near by we decided to give it a shot and we are glad we did.

while the place isn't exactly the hippest restaurant in town and me and my wife were the youngest people there by a good 25 years, the food was spot on. me and my father each ordered the ribeye, medium rare, and they were perfectly cooked. my wife ordered the filet medallions with feta and mushrooms and while her's was slightly cooked past medium it was still very good. my mom ordered the paneed redfish and it was fantastic.

the menu is fairly smart as well. often times you see places with wasteful menus with what has to be difficult profit margins. kathryn's has variety within what it offers, meaning there are only a few staples, sides, accoutrements, etc, but they are put together different ways to come up with variety.

prices are pretty solid as well.

so while i may not visit kathryn's often i imagine we'll stop by with my parents in the future.

very bad. i use to like it but it was awful! it took 25 minutes to get a menu. the manager thomas came out all friendly asking about things. when i reported the delay he started sweet talking about appetizers! let's get you this and that. i thought he would comp them but he didn't. there was nothing special about the food--most was over cooked--and broiled tomato was just ok. the service was extremely bad! 224.00 wasted.

some of the best food in town..great atmosphere. live band, and the prime rib is the best intown. also red fish is amazing..overall one of my favorite places

ate there last night for the first time and was extremely pleased! food was great and atmosphere was pleasant. will definitely be back. thanks carol, you were delightful!
