the rating is purely for the ambiance and to some extent, the service. the food was a total disaster.
kailash parbat in ooty has got a nice ambiance which is what drew to us in the first place. after being seated, we were served hot water and our orders were duly taken. the stewards are fairly attentive and providegoodenough service considering the crowd they get.
that's where the positives end.
we had chola bhatura platter & north indian sizzler, along with cream of tomato soup.
tomato soup: cream was missing but otherwise it's an average soup, not too bad, nothing to rave about either.
chola bhatura platter: it was mostly tasteless except for a bitter aftertaste. at rs. 339 + taxes, definitely not what you'd expect. it was basically three fluffy pooris that were more or less bad tasting, with a small portion of chole.
north indian sizzler: the best part of this are the french fries that were served along side. everything else was a disaster. the kadai paneer was too spicy to help us recognize any other taste. the rice left a very bad taste in the mouth.
we finished a little more than half of both because we were paying agoodamount of money and didn't want to waste it - a big mistake.
we ended up having food poisoning and a sleepless night, puking and retching out the bad food.
overall, it doesn't look like they are consistent with the food quality and it's a hit or a miss.
