phenomenal. our experience at kai was easily the best dining experience from top to bottom that i've ever had. the food was outstanding, theserviceimpeccable and the overall atmosphere was phenomenal. there's a reason why kai is the only 5-diamond rated restaurant in phoenix. being common folk in the pocketbook, my girlfriend and i don't eat at 5-star restaurants every weekend or even every year. it was a special occassion for us, and the experience didn't disappoint. everything was meticulously planned and executed. ambiance was terrific for a romantic evening. definitely a once-in-a-lifetime type dining experience that everyone should encounter at least once. we're highly glad we did. hands down the best restaurant i've ever been to.

the essence of the pima and maricopa tribes extends to the décor of the restaurant as well. it’s a quiet and comfortable place for a meal. theserviceis attentive and respectful, and the food is fantastic. kai is a continual winner of forbes travel guide’s five-star award and aaa’s five-diamond award.

one of the best dining experiences ever!!!. this was by far the best food we had in phoenix and probably the best dining experience i've ever had. the menu was innovative and the flavors were exceptionally well balanced. theservicewas by far, completely outstanding.

our wait staff were extremely knowledgeable about the food and the local culture. i just was completely blown away!!! every dish was so beautiful and every bite worth it. this is enough reason for us to come back to visit the phoenix area. i loved it. we felt so special when we had a special treat and note from our waiter in our vehicle. i loved it. you have to try this. you will not be disappointed.

"the 5 diamond gem" of arizona. you are in for an experience for the evening. kai is locate din the sheraton resort, far from the casino civilization. you are greeted by a most gracious host, who in our case pronounced our name correctly and wished us a happy anniversary. our table faced the windows looking west into the resort and western view of the gila river indian community, it was fantastic as the sun set. our server was quentin and joshua, who greeted us and told us all about the gila indian community, and kai's association with it. we elected to go with the journey thirteen course tasting menu, one with wine and expanded wine to experience all that kai has to offer, and wonderful wine parings with each dish. expect to be there for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, it is unforgetible. silverware was either chilled or warmed depending on the dish coming, and the precision ofservicewas incredible. quentin thanked us for joining him, and when we left our car was waiting us, along with two bottles of voss water and a thank you card.

many pervious posters along with other web sites indicate how expensive kai is, you must understand that before you decide to experience kai that it will be a lot of money for evening.

holy moly!. vacation is all about escaping reality, getting away from it all. this is exactly what you get the second you drive onto resort lands. the drive is long and winding, the wildlife is plentiful (we got to several coyotes, rabbits, and deer), the valet is engaging (and certainly seems like he's actually happy to see you), and the resort entry is quite possibly one of the most relaxing places on the planet.

when you enter the restaurant area you are immediately treated like royalty. talk about checking out of reality! it doesn't matter who you are, if you're there these folks are treating you like a million bucks. yes, you're paying a serious tab for your meal, but it's well worth it.

theserviceis excellent, the food is excellent, and the view is unimaginably amazing. get a reservation for right around sunset and they open the drapes and let mother earth put on a show. as the sun falls beyond the horizon, the night takes over and is equally as gorgeous.

the food is like nothing you'd expect if you live in the midwest. keep an open mind, and get ready to have your taste buds pushed. you will walk away wishing you could eat like this everyday. each course is perfectly sized. at first you think you're not getting nearly enough food. and it's all so good that you want to keep eating more. but by the end of the experience you feel perfectly satiated, rather than bursting at the seams.

be sure to check ahead of time. there is about a 4-6 week period during the summer when they close down. i think they use this time to do research, recharge their creative juices, and build the new menu for the coming season.

think i can talk the family into going back? i sure hope so!

outstandingserviceand dining experience. we had come to phoenix for a small weekend vacation - to get away from the weather in pittsburgh and enjoy some sun! before going, i used trip advisor to search for top restaurants in phoenix. kai was listed at the top, and they did not disappoint! the atmosphere is outstanding, theservicewas excellent. we never had a moment for want, but had ample moments for intimate conversation. the food, of course, was perfect. without good food, the rest is rather wasted no? may i recommend the desert mint & white sage tea marinated duck breast with turkish dates & foie gras tart? in addition to their food, the wine list was very well rounded, with several international varietals. we choose kai for the reviews, and we wanted somewhere special to celebrate our anniversary, and they made us feel like they cared that it was a special night for us.

absolutely fantastic. my husband took me here for my birthday and i had one of the top 2 meals of my life. from the moment you valet park-you are treated as a very special, important guest. the food is simply fantastic, theservicethe best i've ever experienced and the ambience perfect. there were lots of lovely little surprises from the chef (amuse bouche etc). the menus each had unique artwork. what was especially lovely was how they did not rush you. the dinner took almost 4 hours and the servers never made you feel like anything than royalty.
when we were finished and walked out to the curb, our car was already waiting for us with 4 bottles of gourmet water, a hand written thank you note from our server and a small box of chocolates.
due to the expense, this is perhaps a "once every 5 years restaurant" but don't miss it. save your money and go enjoy the best meal you'll ever eat.
