just awesome!!!. what agreatexperience. chef joe was awesome. food and atmosphere was fantastic. everyone treated our familygreatand our special occasion dinner was a memorable evening!

i heard about this restaurant on the marti griffin show. i immediately wanted to support a family owned business that was doing so well. i bought my in-laws a gift certificate to dine there. so, when my dad said that he needed to treat my mom to a nice romantic birthday dinner, i immediately recommended this restaurant. i made the reservations and called to confirm. i purchased a bottle of champagne and their infamous volcano dessert. i was so happy, and my dad was delighted. i received a call from the owner (5 hours before the reservation), and was told that they would be closing early due to some cancellations. he reported that it would not be worth sticking around..."sorry." currently, all restaurants are open, i know that it would "suck" to "stick around," but it seems that a business should honor their hours. there is no hurricane, flood, family emergency and/or anything that warrants an early closing. they were aware that this was a special occasion, but still decided to shut down. i am so disappointed, and i will never go there. i am not doubting that they havegreatfood, but customer service is more important. i am really in shock that a restaurant will cancel a special dinner because a "couple people" cancelled and it is "just not worth sticking around." i really thought i was dreaming.

nice neighborhood restaurant. my husband and i had dinner at tambelini's for the first time this evening. the service wasgreatand food was excellent! i had the mufalda caprese and the roasted potato and garlic soup. both were wonderful. my husband had a 16 ounce pork chop with peppers. he also had the tomato caprese salad. he loved both. he had a jumbo lump crab cake for an appetizer. also very good. definitely recommend this restaurant. we will return

quality food and service!. service can really make or break a restaurant. the staff is all amazing and so welcoming. i felt like i was in joe's personal kitchen because the staff was so warm. adam is absolutely wonderful!

on top of the fantastic service, the food was delicious. i love italian food and believe me, i was glad that i was so hungry when we went because the portions are huge and it is difficult to stop eating because it is so tasty.

we had the chicken parmesan and the meatball parmesan. we were fans of both! also, despite the fact we were stuffed, we decided to pack up the leftovers and share a piece of tiramisu - best decision ever! amazingly light piece of heaven.

this place is pricey, but you get good quality food and service and this is agreatplace to celebrate, especially because they have some gourmet cocktails! the atmosphere was very romantic and taking someone to this place would be a sure fire way to impress them.

great place to eat. service was excellent, and very polite. extremely intimate setting, andgreatfor an anniversary dinner.

i have been here many of times, from birthdays to dates to just hanging out with friends. there is a reason joseph tambellini's is one of if not the best in pittsburgh. food is amazing, i mean you name it. after reading some other reviews, i was shocked too see a comparison to olive garden?? give me a break!! joe and missy aregreatand make you feel at home from the door. i have and will continue to recommend this restaurant to locals as well as the many out of town guests i bring in.

my favorite italian food in pittsburgh. we started with the meatballs-classic done right, the fried zucchini is golden and crispy-delicious, the sauce for both was perfect. i got the veal special with peppers-the dish was spot on and the marsala demi sauce was perfect. my fiance who is a bit of a picky eater loved her shrimp scampi. the pasta was cooked perfectly, and our salads that also came with the meal were very tasty. all the food was quality and cooked perfectly! and the service was outstanding beginning with being greeted by melissa at the door, she was able to get us the last table on a busy friday night, next time i'll make a reservation, and our server adam was very knowedgable about the menu and did agreatjob, the chef/owner joe t. also stopped by our table to chat, he is a nice guy who really cares about the food and restaurant. all of this and the wonderful atmosphere contributed to make our dining experiance a memorable one. quite simply this place cooks italian food the way italian food should be cooked!!

eh.. i really expected more from this place. the food was good but by no means stellar, the pasta course was lukewarm, and the service was spotty - our server said she usually works at a bar elsewhere and was notgreatat answering questions. it took three requests to get the wine we'd ordered. five not jumbo shrimp with no side dish (pasta course and salad included) was not worth the price. others dinners at the table looked better or at least bigger! also, they knew it was my birthday (booked here because i thought our kids could definitely find something to eat) and no mention was made of the occasion. fine for neighborhood upscale but not a special occasion place in my mind.

i love the place. it's close to home and the closest i can get to my moms tomato sauce. i like joes meatballs they are better than moms! sorry mom. i'm usually there late and straight from work so im not the best dressed when it's time for the vacuums to come out but its romantic and freindly and as joe says about the dress code as long as you have a pocket for your wallet your welcome. said jokingly! joe is awesome stops by all the tables and is always a laugh and has a story. there are three floors and the top floor is perfect for a party or to watch hockey playoffs. parking isgreatacross the street. stop in tell them dan sent you.

incredible experience!!!!!. we walked in the door and were greeted by a wonderful young lady whom ended up being the owner, (melissa). the place was georgus and warm, we knew right then it was going to be agreatexperience.
the food and service was outstanding, all the staff were attentive without being intrusive and melissa spent some time with us. she was as genuine a person as you will ever meet.
my husband had a veal chop, done perfectly, i had the chilean seabass with an orange butter sauce and crusted with toasted almonds..wow!!
if you go here and dont have a meatball, you will never know what your missing,,,,,sorry grandma, better than mine and yours!!!!
i cant wait to bring more people there to show off such agreatrestaurant in our city!! it's wonderful that a restaurant thisgreatcan give off such a "down to earth" feel!! not pretentious like soooooo many other new restaurants that make you feel as if they are doing you a favor!!
