best pizza in indy. jockamo's has really re-vamped irvington. the pizza is wonderful! so many choices, all are good! the atmoshere is what a pizza place should be, not uptight but not a hole-in-the-wall, a perfect middle ground. service is young, friendly, and efficient. they all seem to be having fun. it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. fresh (sometimes unique) ingredients, made to order pizza costs more than something thats been sitting under a heating lamp for hours. thankyou jockamo upper crust pizza for bringing irvington back up to it's potential!

this is as good as it gets...... ...when it comes to a neighborhood place that has good beer, good pizza and an efficient wait-staff. been there many times, but we always meet someone new that we can strike up a conversation with while we enjoy the pizza. mmm-mmm.
they offer a nice selection of beer, both national and micro-brews. a constantly updated selection allows you to sample different quaffs dependent on the time of the year: we had some wonderful octoberfest from sam adams.

the pizza is usually terrific. so far, we haven't had a bad one and it always shows up hot, just out of the pizza oven. the crust is uniformly cooked with no doughy spots. all the ingredients are distributed evenly, making all the pies tasty no matter what side you start from. the staff are always willing to change your seating (we've changed to the bar on several occasions and they have always been able to keep everything straight.) on top of that, the locals that frequent the place are easy to talk and friendly.

this is as close to my favorite pizza in the whole world, upper crust in boston.

great food, but bad timing for myself. i was so bummed that my first experience here i had the worst migraine of my life and couldn't eat a thing. still my boyfriend loved it and he is quite the pizza snob being from chicago as am i. i ate my pizza when i got home after the pain went away and it was still amazing. great great local pizza place!

worth a visit. i was hesitant to try this local favorite after reading numerous reviews that the crust was bland and tasteless. but since i have yet to find a decent place to eat in indy i headed over for some pizza. i am glad i chose to try this gem!

the hummus appetizer was bountiful and flavorful.
the salads were fresh and crunchy, though the spinach salad was over dressed.
the pizza was great! the crust had a great crunch and the perfect amount of chew. the toppings were fresh and flavorful. the sauce had a sweetness that left you wanting more.

overall i highly recommend this joint to all those who venture into indianapolis!!

great staff, relaxed atmosphere. if you can't find a pizza you love here, you're not trying! food is consistently high quality. if you have a latex allergy: beware! they use latex gloves, but will happily make accommodations. i do not prefer the tomato-based pizza sauce as it is slightly chunky...but the flavor is very good. dough is lightly seasoned which just adds to the great taste. love the italian beef sandwich too! they now have draft beer in addition to bottles and wine.

jockamo, how i love thee!. great atmosphere, friendly staff, and yummy pizza! love the uniqueness of the menu, although i always end up going for the caliente (no chorizo for me, though) or the shipwreck. can't beat this local gem!

a must stop. jackamo's is a must stop for any pizza fan. the menu is eclectic and the surroundings feel upscale and cool while still remaining casual and relaxed. the crowd is as diverse as the menu, young, old, emo, bikers, hippies, regular people - all coming together to enjoy pizza. the beer selection is as interesting as the pizza menu and don't forger about the salads. i recommend the greek with house balsamic - its delightful. if you have a sweet tooth, the review the dessert menu for sure. take the time to actually read the menu - great pains have been taken to source local foods, suppliers and recipes. the whole place has a real community vibe. it seems like a perfect fit for the irvington area. i feel at home and i have only been there twice. on a bit of a down note: the staff is a bit young for the place - they tend to gather in groups and gossip as if they were in the high school hallway.

love it!. can't wait to go back. we had the po boy pizza & the slaughterhouse five along with the spinach salad. wonderful house dressing! we also order the bread sticks but they weren't anything special but the parmesan dipping sauce was yummie.

not much taste, way overpriced. came on the recommendation that it is like bazbeauz. it isn't. jockamo's is somehow more expensive and far less tasty. the ingredients are not as fresh, and i have the distinct feeling that the cheese flavor is a love it or hate it kind of thing. i hated it. way too many people swear by jockamo to write it off completely, but i would rather have papa john's, bazbeauz, or even little caesar's.

they must be hiding the owner in the back!. i've read several reviews talking about the rudeness of the owner. they must not be letting him out of the kitchen anymore. :) all the staff we encountered were friendly & courteous. this was our first visit & won't be our last. by far the best pizza we've had in indy, including bazbeaux, which in my opinion is highly overrated & outdated. they carry the locally brewed sun king beer, which is awesome. we went on a friday night, did have to wait about 20 minutes to get a table, no problem. sat on the patio, very pleasant. could use some noise control (soft surfaces) in the main dr, it's extremely loud.
