just happened by this restaurant and i'm so glad we did! ambiance is great, lunch right in the marina in a perfect outdoor seating area. our server, kent was fantastic and made our experience outstanding! food is off the charts delicious! we both had burgers and loved them! only downside is that it's a little pricey for a burger but then again it was one of the best burgers i've ever had and the service more than made up for the check!

if you want to kick start the day, order the “j-fat famous bloody mary,” a spicy favorite blended with a choice of ketel one vodka or milagro silver tequila, garnished with a blue cheese-stuffed olive and pepperoni-wrapped pepper jack cheese.

one of the very best san diego has to offer. between the great location in a very classy marina, and the comfortable atmosphere which becomes especially nice in the summer when the entire place is basically open-air, it would be easy to forget about the food. that would be a shame, because the quality, preparation, and taste of jimmy's menu items are second to none. i'm a san diego local for a long time, and this is basically my favorite spot overall, i just love it.

amazing bacon blue cheese burger.. have been here a couple of times. get the bacon blue cheese burger, it has this wonderful blue cheese sauce and thick strips of bacon, you have to eat the burger with knife and fork. the sauce is amazing. the apple slaw is delicious as a side. they also have pretty good drinks...the grapefruit paloma in particular. a little expensive but hey.

a coworker of my hubby's recommended we spend our next date night at jimmy's famous american tavern. ..so we did! located in the promenade at point loma in san diego, california, jimmy's famous american tavern is a great casual restaurant right on the water.    my first libation was a "must-have" recommendation called the strawberry ginger deluxe consisting of vodka, ginger liqueur, strawberry juice right from the strawberry, some lemon juice, bitters and champagne (the terrific bartender read off the ingredients to me so i hope i remembered them all). although the drink presented in front of me was beyond gorgeous, and looked too pretty to touch, i was not a fan of the taste. the ginger liqueur was way too strong for my palate. however, the recommender of the drink spoke very highly of it saying it was one of the best drinks she has ever had

gross.. so when i was young i was watching tv at my grandparents' house and some band came on, it must have been a talk-show or something. my grandmother said that she always worried about the drummer when she saw bands on tv because how much money can the drummer really make, you know? he probably doesn't write any songs and he's not usually the most popular member of the group; and unless they're the beatles or something what's he going to do after the band breaks up?
i'm not sure if my grandmother had ever seen spinal tap, but movies like that and random stories of musicians choking on their own tongues also helped reinforce her point.

so now when i see a video of a band that's had a couple of hits but has 7 or 8 members i actually worry about how much money the drummer makes. a while back i heard that mo tucker from the velvet underground was working at a wal-mart and just the other night i heard that the pixies' drummer was trying to make it as a magician before they got back together.

then i heard that the drummer from guttermouth opened a restaurant in pt. loma. i guess that my family history pretty much compelled me to try it out.

anyway, the point of this story is that i think wal-mart is hiring.
