it's about time a fine dining restaurant came to port charlotte!
food and service outstanding!
this is one of my new favorite places to eat, oh, i forgot to mention the music, go and chill a little!

the best food you will ever put in your mouth !. joe and chief brian will make sure you have a wonderful dining experience. the food is so fresh tasting, i couldn't believe it. try the beef stew, yes i said beef stew. it is the best i have ever put in my mouth; better than my mother's. the veggies are outstanding. service was over the top. thanks to the entire staff.

martini and music. my wife and i enjoy going to jd's on friday for a few martini's and live jazz. we normally order a flat bread, relax and listen to danny on the baby grande

crab cake and grits. i have become a regular customer of jd's. regularly taking clients and friend for great meal and entertainment. i must say the crab cakes and grits are my favorite. if you cant decide to what to eat try it. the crab cake is full
of crab and the grits are like none other, full of cease and shrimp. the staff is always graciuos and attentive. looking forward to next visit.

this place is elegant. the waitstaff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. the food is excellent. if you are looking for fine dining this is a great place!!!

jd bistro and grille menu has pasta, seafood, steak, chicken, lobster tails or smaller plates of variety for the lesser appetite or appetizer. on special events and sunday brunch there is a special menu for the day.

great new menu items!. all the great things on there are still there- or better but now we they are adding more family friendly foods. my kids were able to enjoy pizza, the best french fries i've ever had, and a fantastic burger. i prefer the version on the menu, but they made it kid friendly and it was great. again, i can't stress enough about the hand cut french fries that come with the burger and chicken sandwhich - but they will give them to you as a side too. more comfort foods for the season- new menu isn't up on website yet but stop by and see or try it. our group of 15 left very (very) happy!

two thumbs up. my first experience at jd's was brief but very pleasant and definately will lead to more visits. the pretense was a meeting over drinks, but he next will be purely social. the atmosphere was lovely and the piano playing is a great touch. i will definately be back, with friends !

great food & wine!!. we have been to jd's on several occasions and have never been disappointed with the food or service. chef bob, as we like to call him, brought a wonderful ruby port to our table to sample on one occasion when my wife and i where finishing dinner and i will tell you this.....i have never been a huge fan of wine or port but this was absolutely the perfect end to the perfect evening!

just what port charlotte needed!. jd's bistro and grille is simply just right! for the warm welcome, to the great relaxed color scheme, the friendly, very informative waitstaff, the absolutely delicious menu options, (which have smaller or larger portions - its your choice).
it is the place to entertain guest with an absolute certainty that everyone will find something.
full bar and wine list - great prices, and they even have a reserved chef's wine list, that is just great for those of us that have wine fever!!
we went there at first for just a night out and have been back several times with friends just to share the great experience with!!
oh, and if you are lucky the chef will come out and chat and share his idea and suggestions with you...great touch! you can tell he loves what he does.

date night. what a wonderful surprise, an establishment like this in port charlotte? couldn't believe it! beautiful decor. great wine, food & impecable service. a fabulous place for a romantic night out with that special someone!

lunch meetings and many dinners, all fantastic. we had our first dinner shortly after they opened with friends, professional and friendly service. chef visited us, and we learned more about the menu. they update and change the menu, and listened to our feedback. we kept returning, found ourselves addicted to the warm bread and their dipping sauce. it has a flair to it beyond olive oil. its just fantastic. every meal is fresh, made to order, served with pride, and the wine and drink specials are one of a kind. we have fallen in during live music nights, and looking forward to a titantic dinner theme night. if you want a romantic restaurant, something that's not ordinary, that's going to start conversation as you try to figure out what makes this dish so much better than any other you have had...this is the place. if you want exactly what every chain offers in a slightly different package, well, you would still love this place.

we visited so often, and when asking when they would be open for lunch they explained they had private functions and breakfast, lunch or early dinner private meetings/meals.
we have not been able to book one yet, however we want to find an excuse to have one!

don't let the high quality of the decor scare you off, if you see pictures. while they maintain upscale service, i've seen men in shorts that fit right in. it's not about how we dress when we go there, its about how we are treated. they don't expect anything from us but our appetite and we appreciate it!

huh? great food!!!. i have been to this restaurant a dozen times the chef is amazing he comes out asks how everything is if there is a problem they correct it? house smoked salmon...the best!!!

i have never had a bad meal there. bread?... he bakes his own and the the portions are perfect if you order a queen your told its half the size 4 - 5 ounces steak. great for older people or thoose who have had surgery. i think the queen steak is 11.99 it includes bread and salad!. its fresh made.

there is nowwhere in port charlotte you can get fresh made daily products with the care and love that this chef puts forth. the wines are very affordable the bottle beer is priced less than local chains.most by a dollar!

this sounds more like a discruntled employee to me than someone who actually ate at the restaurant? great job to chef bob and his staff!! we'll be back!!! maybe this other person should stay eating mcdonalds.

terrible all around. the food is way overpriced for what you get. they don't even give you rolls or bread. we ordered the steak, which was the size of a meatball and the chicken, which was tough, dry and tastless. they both came with two tablespoons of mashed potatoes, and 2 miniscule pieces of broccoli. all this for a torturous amount of time with the incredibly slow service. very nice waitstaff and owner, lovely decor inside. if they don't get their act together with the food, i give them less than 6 months.
