james dean prague restaurant

jamesdeanje velmi příjemné místo na posezení. překrásný interiér, dobré burgery, super limonády. co ale trochu zklame je cena za pivo, která je (zřejmě kvůli turistům) trochu přehnaná. a celkové porovnání ceny a chutnosti/kvality jídla.

and jamesdeanwas the best burger that ive tried, and believe me ive tried lots of places.
the ambiance is very nice
the staff are friendly
its typical american chain restaurant
the food was great
and all in all, it was a very lovely experience

jamesdeanprague restaurant se nachází ve skvělé lokalitě v centru města, v jídelním lístku si vybere nejspíš opravdu každý, ceny jsou zde poměrně vysoké, ale vzhledem k umístění a typu kuchyně pochopitelné, jídlo určitě nezklame a obsluha je zde milá:) doporučuji vyzkoušet mac'n'cheese a lívance:)

jamesdeanje hlavne o stylu, atmosfere a ambiente. krasne servirky s ruzove napudrovanymi tvaremi vas obsluhuji v typickem americkem bistru z 60. let. jidlo je v pohode, chutne a cerstve, ale asi si z nej na zadek nesednete. celkovy dojem je ale pozitivni a navstevu doporucuji.
update: poledni menu jsou taky v pohode. akorat nechapu, jak muze nekdo v poloprazdne restauraci tohoto typu cekat na jidlo tak dlouho. cely obed mi trval 1:20 protoze jsem na kazde jidlo musel cekat. dokonce i na dezert (dort se slehackou) asi 10 min.

jamesdeanje bomba. člověk si tam připadá jak v pulp fiction nebo pomádě. milá a krásná obsluha - to je na ukroucení krku pánové :-) chilli burger skvělý! maso je krásně cítit po grilu a celý burger tak nějak parádně funguje. oceňuji i výborné domácí limonády. ceny jsou na umístění a kvalitu hodně přijatelné. a člověk si tu užije i návštěvu wc - ten design je top! tenhle podnik prostě jo!

já to tu mám prostě ráda, a nijak to neovlivní ani fakt, že moji kamarádi ne. celý interiér je fakt boží, pokaždé obdivuju marilynovskou a deanovskou mozaiku za barem a všechny detaily, které dotváří übercool retro celek. servírky jsou fakt kočky, všechny mají dobové oblečky a jsou milé. jednou jsem tu měla láhev růžového vína z pražského vinařství salapka, které mi tak chutnalo, že teď se ho snažím sehnat v každé vinárně, kam přijdu. co se týče klientely, ta je velmi různorodá, od modelek, fotbalistů/hokejistů a cizinců až po úplně normální lidi, jako jsem já. do deana chodím však kvůli supr koktejlům a designovému interiéru, ne kvůli lidem okolo, takže mi je fakt jedno, kdo žvejká hamburger opodál. a dole to je taky boží! zažila jsem tam party, kdy servírka stála na baru a lila mentolový likér lidem přímo do krku.deanje zkrátka must see, alespoň na praze 1.

we had a girls party - just one day off - and we decided to have a dinner in jamesdeanrestaurant and then we had booked also places downstairs to have some drinks and dance. first i have to say, that atmosphere was great, staff nice dressed and very friendly, but as the restaurant was really full, staff was quite slow, if there were more staff, it would be better that time. food was really great. waited a long time for a payment. downstairs there only one place you can be with more friends - a car, other places are just for 2, 3, 4 persons. first 2 hours we drank a few coctails which were good, but music was boring, better music started after midnight but we were not at the "taste for dancing" anymore. we changed the club and it was completely the best we could do. we were really looking forward the evening there but it was "a surprise", i wish we had better time at another place earlier that night. we expected more.

první dojem na restauraci:

  i když jsem především kavárenský typ. není nad to zkusit něco jinného a zajímavého. o restauraci, která je zároven i clubem (nebudu hodnotit spodní část jelikož jsem tam nikdy nebyl) jsem byl mile překvapen a dýchla na mne atmosféra z dob pomády. interiér je typizován do červených odstínů, což je specifické pro toto období. sezení je velmi příjemné kor když sedíte na sedačce typizované do chevroletu bel air. chromové a neonové prvky dělají z této restaurace jedinečný celek v centru prahy.

kávu si tu dejte, ale...

  kávu si tu dejte, ale spíše se zaměřte na jinné místní speciality. neříkám, že káva tu je špatná. espresso ujde, ale lidé a i já sem krom atmosféry chodí kvůli kuchyni a drinkům. úžasné tu jsou burgery, krevetky a snídaně tu jsou velmi opulentní. co se týče pití, tak domácí limonády a mléčné koktejly jsou prvotřídní. za mne jen a jen chválu.

na servírky radost pohledět...

  krom příjemného vystupování je radost se podívat na servírku, dámy omluvý (pánové co zde byly ví a ty co tu nebyly jako by nebyli). ted tedy se vší vážností. obsluha je milá, usměvavá a dostatečně se vám věnuje.

pokud bych měl shrnout jak se na mne jevý jamesdeantak bych určitě tento podnik doporučil a o vikendech v dopoledních hodinách i rodinkám z dětmi. přeci jen je něco jiného si dát pořádný americký burger než si dát cosi připomínající burger v jakémkoliv mcdonaldu.

i'm sorry, i just can't talk about jamesdeanwithout remembering the first scene of oh-so-famous movie "pulp fiction". now, if you've never been in this restaurant, and you've never seen this movie, then you probably have no idea what i'm talking about, which is embarrassing. so let's get to the point.

(!) there are two floors in james dean, the restaurant and the club below. i'm not going to talk about the last one, because there's no food in there and, well, no food = no interest. 

so, the restaurant has a long bar (full bar available + big variety of cocktails), smoking and non-smoking area and the coolest design theme (there's no way for me to describe it in a right way, i always say: "it's just like in pulp fiction." ok, i will not mention this movie again, promise). the menu is quite simple and american-ish: burgers, steaks, sandwiches, some salads and desserts. the portion sizes are good, the prices are valid considering the location. 

(!) i would recommend goat cheese salad and banana split as a dessert. once i tried a burger (maybe two years ago, before my i-will-not-eat-meat-ever-again era) and unfortunately i can't say it was good, but they had a lot of time to fix it, so you tell me if they are any better.

i absolutely love breakfasts there: always delicious. you can "build your own breakfast" by choosing the ingredients for the eggs and the way of cooking them, or you can simply order one of four other options. with each breakfast you have homemade bread, butter and endless coffee cup (must-have in the morning!).

(!) don't forget about the reservation! i would highly recommend you to make one if you really want to go to james dean.

why my rating is 4.0 you may ask? ok, there are some reasons for that:

- the quality of your cocktails depends on the bartender: there are good ones and bad ones and you can never guess if you'd be lucky or not. i always check this by ordering my favourite whisky sour cocktail: if it's good, then i can be sure about the other cocktails, but if it's not, then i would continue with alcohol that doesn't need to be mixed, shaken or even touched.

- the waitresses are mostly polite, but a couple of times i had a bad experience of dealing with not so friendly ones.

-the place is in the city centre = lots of tourists = crowded restaurant. get ready to wait a bit more than you used to.

to sum up: this place is lucky enough to have the concept they are using: the atmosphere, design and music - it's all good, but they can't rely on that all the time. i like this place, i really do, but before entering jamesdeani want to always be sure, that it's going to be a good experience.

jamesdeanje pro mne slabý průměr a to hodnotím spodní část. restauraci jsem ještě nevyzkoušel a někjak se mi do toho nechce. barmani dole jsou super, to se musí nechat. jsou rychlí, milí a pohotoví. co je ale problém je prostředí tohoto podniku a tím nemyslím dekorace. prostě sem z mého pohledu chodí zvláštní lidé. chlapi čekají na každou příležitost a holky se až moc snadno nechají přemluvit na drink, hlavně když ho zaplatíte. neříkám, že je to špatně, ale pokud chcete jen zapařit s přáteli je lepší volba harley's!

this review will be a two part review: one part for the jamesdeanrestaurant, and another one for the nightclub that can be found in its basement.as a restaurant, jamesdeanis pretty good. the ambiance of an old 50's style diner is spot on, from the seats, to the decoration, to the outfits and names of the waitresses.the prices are a little steep but you are close to old town square anyway. in terms of food, you will find some pretty tasty stuff here, however, not too sophisticated. mostly burgers, sandwiches and comfort food, along with an extensive bar menu.as for the nightclub, i can only say that it's one of the places that i like to go when i'm looking for a fun night out in prague. the music is more on the commercial side, but you will find fun people all around for the most part, and the overall vibe is pretty good.recommend it heavily if you're visiting the city!
