iron cactus mexican restaurant and margarita bar

i absolutely love this place. thefoodis delicious and the servers are very sweet. i would recommend to try the patron mango martini. this is great for taking that special someone for a nice dinner & drinks.

a little too pricey for the quality of thefoodbut otherwise, yes it is good. drinks were great. the chips and salsa were just alright but that's not why we are there.

must like onions. i will never, my entire life, understand how a place can serve a dish smothered in onions and not list them in the dish description on the menu. i spent good money at this place last week and left hungry because the stacked pork enchiladas were stuffed with a pound of onions. normally i just pick them out when this happens but it was too much. cool place with what seems like goodfoodbut my dish was terrible and i wouldn't return.

very impressive. in the heart of 6th street is a full-blown restaurant, tequila bar and patio with a decent skyline view of downtown austin. being out of town, i walked 6th street quite a few times and needed a "cool" place to sit and to grab a bite and beer. i'm glad i decided to rest my weary body here!

i elected to have fireman's #4 ale to accompany the complimentary chips and selections of salsa. the waiter we had was more than attentive and very friendly. after cooling off in the 98-degree heat on their misted patio, it was time to get to business. i opted for the chile relleno rustica with black beans and rice and of course, another fireman's #4. it's by far one of the best chile relleno i've ever had. i even tried to trick the waiter into believing that i read on the menu it was all you could eat. (didn't work, but he seemed flattered that i mentioned it)

i would suggest iron cactus to anyone that's interested in watching a game, needing to cool off, simply wants a quieter setting in the midst of 6th street and is looking for great mexicanfoodwith superb selection of adult beverages and an awesomely stocked tequila section! prices were right on the money as well.

an extensive menu and lots of margarita, what’s not to like? i went to austin with friends recently. it was my first time in austin and of course we made it our mission to try tex-mexfoodas soon as we got there. the iron cactus was recommended to us at our hotel and so we hopped on the shuttle and headed downtown. upon arrival we found ourselves in a spacious dining room with a bar in the middle and a second floor with extra seating. we sat by the window and started to peruse the menu. the first thing i noticed was the margaritas.

iron cactus is awesome! the staff is friendly and accommodating and thefoodis down right tasty!! j.r. was my server today and he totally rocks!!

i love iron cactus. it might not be the best or most authentic mexicanfoodever, but it's good, they give you a lot, and the atmosphere is great. the salsa is really good, decent menu selection, and great margaritas. just a nice, casual place to eat with friends, family, or your significant other. i like this much better than chuys.

i'm an out of towner in for a visit. thefoodwas yummy and the absolute bellini martini was to die for. the salsas were fresh and fabulous

do not go here. horrible restaurtant, poorfoodand service. overpriced. the bar staff double charged me and then threatened to call the cops on me. the bartender even grabbed me, and the manager laughed in my face when i complained. go somewhere else

not sure where jeremy ate, but it's not the iron cactus. i ate here this evening with 4 colleagues. service was friendly.foodwas great. no one is leaving disappointed. everyone indicates they will return. shrimp enchiladas and fajitas were excellent.

during my first visit, i asked the waiter what most return customers seem to order. he said they don't get very many return customers and i found out why pretty quickly. the wait staff is untrained and immature. the atmosphere is loud and tasteless. thefoodwas sub par. add me to the list of people who won't be going back.

love it!. i have been going to the iron cactus north for years and love it. it is one of the few places around my house that has a late night happy hour and greatfoodto go with it. the fajitas and enchiladas are amazing and the staff is friendly. i would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
