just finished my carry out saag paneer and naan and couldn't help but write a review. this place is awesome. the colours, the auromas, the taste- everything is delicious, every time.

great buffet. this is one of the best indian buffets in the city for sure. it's fresh, tasty and relatively mild for indian, which is something i appreciate. our waitress looked pissed, but all in all, i love this place!

maybe as a full service restaurant i'd be a fan.. my experience is limited in indian cuisine so my stepson and i took this opportunity to explore with our palettes a bit. i figured a buffet service would give us the most exposure to the cuisine. we were promptly seatly in a rather dark and sparsely furnished dining room. the service was attentive enough but i do wish such a language barrier so as to get more of a description of the food and flavor. we tried a bit of everything and from talking to friends i will say that at least some of the menu items have been americanized accordingly while still retaining an authentic flavor. perhaps a full service with a fully engaged server to provide proper introduction into courses would do great for this establishment. i have a feeling though they are quite comfortable with the level of business they get so i don't see that happening.

good food, family atmosphere. we made our first visit to taj palace for father's day. i'm not a big buffet person, but it was definitely the right choice for the first trip since it gave us a chance to try all of the dishes and pick our favorite. i read a lot of positive reviews on the goat curry, which was good, but not great. my favorite was the tikka chicken and my wife liked the chick pea yellow curry/yogart. the creamed spinach and lentals were also very good. very nice desert bar to top off the meal.

the restaurant is family run and the staff was friendly and attentive. overall it was a very enjoyable meal and we will be going back.

i like it for what it is. i've been here several times for the lunch buffet and enjoy it for what it is . .quick, tasty and inexpensive. it is a buffet, after all, and i definitely hold buffets to a lower standard than regular restaurants. i'm no expert on indian food but the dishes here seem to range from somewhat authentic to totally americanized. the beef curried meatballs, for example, strike me as uniquely american - however i do like them.

i'm not an indian food expert by any means although i do love it. in my limited knowledge, i would consider the food here to be more northern and therefore pretty mild and not very spicy. for many, this is preferred. for me, i like the heat and tons of flavor in the southern style. give this place a try if you want a good intro to indian cuisine.

ok, but not great. went there around 5pm on a sunday and we were the only people there. after we arrived a few more parties showed up. i thought the buffet had a nice selection of food. all the food was hot and amazingly not dry or overcooked since it looked like it had been sitting there awhile. after a few parties arrived, no employee came out to survey the buffet. they ran out of chicken tikki masala and a customer had to ask a waitress for some more. they should check and replenish the buffet more often so customers won't have to ask for more food. i probably wouldn't return as it's kinda far and i know of other indian buffets closer

good comfort food. my friends and i come here very frequently. the food is consistently good, and done with care. we've tried many indian restaurants and we always end up coming back to this one. i love their chai tea!

best indian in sa. great buffet. the chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken are fabulous. the chai tea is wonderful. service is always great. the naan is delicious. it is consistently great, as i eat here with coworkers at least once a week. for the price, hard to beat.

excellent food. you really can't go wrong here whatever you order. everything was fresh and hot and the service was excellent. the owner takes great pride in his restaurant.

i've tried all the main indian restaurants in sa. i made my first visit today for lunch. this is my favorite buffet so far. quality of the food, and selection is great, and so is the service. the restaurant has a good, clean feel. kinda pricey (over $10 for lunch buffet), but well worth the occasional splurge.

love it!. great food. wonderful owner and his family. did i mention great food? the owner will help you choose dishes if you are new to the food. we have never had bad service and used to eat there ever couple of weeks. love it! my children love it! the friends we brought to "introduce" them to it also love it!
