illegal pete's

i placed an order online through door dash, with 4 days advanced notice. almost an hour after expected delivery, i received a message saying the order has been cancelled. when i called, an exasperated manager explained that due to low staff he had to cancel the order. a weak apology and no effort to resolve the problem has led me to leave this review.

i love illegal petes and go to the one on broadway by my house all the time. got lunch at the dtc location today and while i still love their food, was kind of disappointed. not too crowded and ordered a salad and realized after i left they gave me beef instead of pork (look the same when they are putting it on and he repeated pork) and the wrong dressing after asking twice. no big deal but a bit careless today and since i don't really like shredded beef it made my lunch less enjoyable.

last meal before we left was a chipotle-inspired place. the bf and i got burritos that we'd order at chipotle. he always gets chicken, and thought illegal pete's meat was seasoned better. i always get vegetarian, and i didn't think it was as good, but not bad. my sis-in-law and niece shared fish tacos that they thought were tasty, but too messy.

quality food, not just quantity. so much better than the other mexican fast food options. really good quality, very tasty. have enjoyed everything i've tried.

fish tacos, steak, chicken tacos, burritos, bowls, nachos and their cheese sauce...oh ya.

likes it. the trick is mixing the burrito insides. i like it, my family doesn't. nice salsas (sauces).

ok..... this was our first visit and we were not expecting an "order in line, seat yourself" clone of the qdoba or chipotle, (who is cloning who?)...the food was decent and had good flavors. pulled pork taco's, chicken taco's + chips & queso...ip's pork better than the q, but the q's chicken and queso is better, in my opinion. the service at ip's was lacking-not friendly at all. in fact, we seemed to inconvenience the workers. the steam table was sloppy, which is no surprise given the way our food was thrown together, skimpy toppings and all. the food was not that temperature hot either, which is a pet-peeve of mine. please make sure the food is hot enough to kill any bacteria that your not-so-caring staff may inadvertently contaminate - this goes for any restaurant...for a quick, fast-food meal solution, ip works, but qboba works better for me. they are much cleaner and more sanitary and the service, hands down, is better. note to management: hire people that smile and appreciate, are prideful in appearance of self and work area.

for night shift people: bar opens when they start serving burritos. m-f that is 730am. also, the breakfast burrito and " the big fish" ( fried fish) burrito are delicious.
