hyderabad biryani house

in the middle of a family holiday last week, on our way back from an ooty sightseeing trip we spotted hbk , it was already crowded when we got in & had one more big group of tourists troop in. weordereda take away large mutton biryani which was efficiently managed.

best place in ooty to have your lunch. the sitting area is less but we have a takeaway option.
weorderedchicken tikka, chicken boneless biryani, manchow soup, and garlic chicken.
i was in love with the taste of the food. the boneless chicken pieces of biryani were so soft and juicy. tikka was well cooked with 10chicken pieces.
overall, must visit for tourists.

it is situated in the main area in elk hill. you can spot it easily. be prepared to wait for around 20 minutes if you are visiting it during lunch time. also since it is in main area you might have difficulty in finding a parking place.

weorderedchicken biryani, fish biryani, chicken chilly and fire shots. taste of chicken biryani was average. biryani was spicy but it lacked the aroma. fish biryani was below average. i have had much better biriyanis at many places( in bangalore, not in ooty). quantity is ample. sitting area is cramped. service is slow if you order anything other than biryani. chicken chilly and fire shots were ok.

even with so many not so good comments, i rate it 3 because in ooty i find very less options for good food and this is one of the places where i can eat.

we visited hyderabad biriyani house when we visited ooty for a short trip in order to have dinner. the place is moderately spaced and we did not have any difficulty in finding a seat.

we were a group of five people. a couple of usordereda couple of mutton biriyani whereas the othersorderedtandoori roti along with butter chicken and hyderabadi chicken.

we were astounded when the waiters brought chicken biriyani instead of mutton biriyani and tried to defend himself by saying we hadorderedchicken biriyani. however, they brought the correct dish in a matter of minutes. the tandoori roti was okayish but we did not find any significant difference between the butter chicken and the hyderabadi chicken.

the restaurant authorities made one more hiccup in the end by billing us for butter tandoori roti instead of tandoori roti. these mistakes degraded our experience and bit and hence there is much room for improvement.

a pretty small dining hall with large number of seats, weorderedfor chicken biryani unfortunately by the time we reached the mutton biryani was finished. couple of friends along has vegetarian dishes, which was quite a ok. coming to the biryani, i’d say the biryani was really great especially when you are out of hyderabad. probably one of few restaurants who could serve hyderabadi biryani.

these people are best when it comes to biryani. their mutton biryani is to die for.
we generallyorderedfrom this place and taste was no different than the other outlets. there is generally a lot of waiting be it take home or dine in so go prepared. well, one doesn't mind the wait when you get juicy pieces in ur biryani. the best part of all hbh is their quantity options to chose from :)
