this place is located in the recently opened hotel ssk, easy to locate. the restaurant has a non ac section which is called the jogger's pavilion but doesn't seem much spent on, than the house of flavours.
as for the latter one the place is very well lit with really elegant decor except the small flatscreen tv blowing off the beautiful wall. (a neat art would've done agreatjob). the tables are appropriately located so there isn't much disturbances with long family or party tables which does agreatjob of making '4 or less' feeling uncomfortable. (if of course your friends are like mine.. we do make sure to let everyone know our location in the restaurant constantly)
the staff are quiet polite and courteous but have absolutely no idea what they are serving and who they are serving, they need to be constantly reminded by their managers to do their job which is irritating to watch.
but the manager does a good job in keeping it together.
the cuisine that i preferred to stick was continental and oriental, there are very few places in nashik which serves really good continental food!
so, the cream of mushroom was the first to arrive on our tables along with greek salad, took about 20 minutes. a little more than expected for soup and salad to arrive. anyways the salad was not fresh nor was the ratio of feta cheese to the vegetables. the seasoning was poor.
the soup was good had a distinct creamy texture and mushrooms were fresh. a-okay.
potato skins with cream cheese and herbs were really good, would go really well with beer or a bubbly cocktail! the potato skins had a good amount of crust and the cream cheese was sumptuously filled, with herbs flavouring it really well.
and the second appetiser was thai sauté vegetables, although the flavour wasn't uncommon, were nicely cooked with veggies still crisp and the sauce had plenty of flavours.
our mains were asparagus green onion risotto and chicken steak in rosemary sauce.
the risotto was beautiful, the sauce was creamy, herbs were right and rice was firm and it dissolved on your palate.
while the chicken was appropriately done, with the sauce being the winner or the day, it had an amazing flavour of rosemary and thyme the seasoning was just right to make the usually bland meat really tasty, a glass of sauvignon would go perfectly with it.
so in short the chefs do know their job really well and the place would suit perfect for a dinner on a weekday 'cause i can't vouch for the waiters to be at their best game on weekends. oh and dress well please. the place looks pretty, so should you.
