hong kong express

awesome food. i first heard of hong kong express through a professor of mine from taiwan. coming from a taiwanese family and from the west side of the mountains where goodchinesefood can be found without a problem, i was thoroughly surprised at the food at hong kong express. it is the bestchinesefood in spokane that i've had since moving here 2 years ago.
i would definitely recommend anyone who goes here to order off the menu. of course, the cheap buffet prices are a real eye catcher, but the quality of the food from the menu is significantly better and worth the extra money (the dishes are not overpriced either). i would strongly suggest the house special fried rice, the spicy peppered shrimp, and the pork chow fun (t bad just not great).

simply the best. this is our go tochineserestaurant. i love restaurants with reasonably priced, excellent food. not fancy inside, but great service and food!

best in spokane. i love the lunch buffet. price is excellent and if you get there right when they open you get to be first. i think this is the bestchinesein spokane. they put out small portions in their pans and this is good because they replace empty ones fast and the food is always fresh.

we are currently in between homes. due to this we have been getting donations from family of food being delivered. our location is situated where not much will deliver but my mom found that hong kong express would. from the time she finalized the order until they were knocking on the door, seemed like it took about 10 to 15 minutes but i know it was not quite that fast. super speedy though! the delivery person was very friendly and knowledgeable.

we are picky about ourchineseas my grandma raised us all on a place that she had gone to for over 40 years on a regular basis and we have not found one that compares. this was not quite that good but was not far off. we ordered two of the pick 2 dinner specials. everything was very delicious and there was so much that we will have a second meal for both of us.

this is definately our new go to place!!

great asian food!. i love this place! i'm from out of town but whenever i'm here i make sure and order! i'm achinesefood junkie and i've probably been to 40 different places in my life and this is by far one of the best. the szechuan chicken is so tender and delicious. plus the hot and sour soup is so full of flavor! would really recommend it!

a good lunch buffet. i have eaten there many times since it opened.
always we hit the buffet. and lunch is the favorite.
i have been there for dinner many times and it costs more for the crab and salmon and shrimp. shrimp are my favorite, but these are the same as i can get from the freezer section, so i like lunch best.
i hate salmon and crab [others like it] i grew up eating real salmon and crab and learned to not like either one [especially the frozen stuff served in the n.w.] yuck

the hong kong buffet is in my top 3 choices ofchinesebuffet.
i eat at 3 different buffet in the spokane area. this is number 1 in the valley.
[it is the only 1 i know of in the spokane valley]

is it clean? not really
does the place look good? not really - it looks like a made over crapplebees
the lunch buffet is pretty good and the peanut brittle is the very best we found on any buffet in spokane. the desserts are great too.

i have seen the menu and read the reviews and might be tempted to order off the menu, but i look around and see those orders going by on their way out.
i choose to stick with the buffet.
on the days the buffet looked poor?
we drove to one of the better buffet that are higher up on the list.

the inner voice calls "go north" and be filled. :)

reliably good chinese. this is my favoritechineserestaurant in spokane. the food is consistently good. the dim sum is very good, though it can take a long time, so don't be in a hurry. i agree it's not the most visually appealing and that's not why i go there.

the owners are excellent and take care of their customers better than any other restaurant i've been to in spokane

one of the bestchineseplaces in spokane.. i'll tell you how to eat at this place correctly. do not get the buffet unless you're expecting buffet quality food. do not eat in house unless you're expecting a no frills experience. do not order something to-go or delivery if it's featured on the buffet, it will most likely come directly off the buffet. i have never eaten in the restaurant, only to-go and delivery, and have had the best food every time. my favorite thing is singapore mai fun, they give you a ton of it and there's 5 different kinds of meat in there. they do not skimp on the meat! it's literally one of the best dishes i've ever had and no where else in town comes close. other things i've had are mongolian beef and sesame beef(via my other half), and not only are the meats and sauces great, they come with super fresh veggies that have that light crunch when they shree perfectly steamed. the prices are great for the amount of quality food you receive. high five, hong kong express!

this place is amazing!! i'm not sure how people rate it less than 5 stars as i've had a great experience every time. they even have the thoughtful insight to use a program that keeps track of your information and previous orders so it makes them come off as a restaurant that cares about repeat business. my normal order is the beef and broccoli and the chicken fried rice with an order of the crab ragoon. first off the portion sizes are good and i usually have to split it up between two meals so for the price i'm getting lunch and dinner. the quality is some of the best ever, it's really hard to find achineseplace that makes good food, even harder to find one that is close to where you live, and even harder to find one that has it ready for pick up in less than 15 mins. all of that together plus the quality and the portion amounts make this place a really great restaurant and i recommend this to every one looking to satisfy thatchinesefood craving we all get from time to time.

would not recommend!. had high hopes going in based on previous reviews of finding a locally owned restaurant that had greatchinesefood. not sure where to start with this... restaurant was dirty. restrooms were out of order. had to listen to one employee (owner?) yelling throughout the restaurant for the entire meal. the salad on the salad bar was brown. every dish with meat in it we tried was overcooked and chewy. not once during our entire meal did we see any fresh food being brought out for the buffet. the only fresh food coming out of there was for the deliveries. the only good thing was the price.

this place is awful! i saw great reviews and decided to try it out.....well guess what think twice!!!! meat/chicken was cold, and the taste was awful! i would not recommend this place! there daughter was running around crying when the mother was taking our order, meat was on the floor. we recently move from virginia to washington state and our first time tryingchinesehere and by far it was awful. hopefully we can find something nice! not sure why it has great reviews or a 4 star rating on yelp!

i ordered take-out, and have not been to the restaurant, but was extremely dissatisfied with the quality and overall taste. too much oil and inferior ingredients. if you like anything remotely quality, not for you. if you like gut-bombs and cheap-cheap quality food, maybe. i'd recommend safewaychineseover this.

can't beat the price. when we want to pig out onchinesefood that's close to home, we go here. food is reliably good-not amazing-good. the deal they seem to always have is two adults for $12.99 + cost of drinks. not bad at all. the owners are usually super friendly, but the rest of the staff could use some training. they are improving the decor, but it still has a long way to go (please dear god, get rid of those horrible blinds. walmart sells some decent curtains for cheap. put them on tension rods and voila! please!)

another note: they advertise dim sum. if you are like me, you probably thought "finally! spokane has dim sum!". not really. they offer a few different types, but that menu is really limited to more appetizer style stuff. personally, i really like getting to pick out dim sum from the carts (like most dim sum places in seattle), but no, you order it just like a regular menu item. anyhow, we will continue to frequent this restaurant for their buffet as long as it stays so cheap!

fresh food great price. we usualy order delivery adn decided to try the eat-in experience.the food was delicious and the service was great.i have been to many otherchineseresturants here and this one is the best by far.i would recommend this place to others.

great food and delivery!!. i haven't been into the actual restaurant (but plan to go & try the buffet), so this review is strictly on their delivery service & that food. i was busy working & cravingchinesefood. i had received a flyer in the mail for them so i figured why not try their delivery.

delivery service: super fast! not to mention i ordered right at lunch time & it was on the day of our first snowfall. 30 minutes for 2 meals, plus an appetizer! the delivery person was very friendly, as was the woman who took my order.

food: just because it arrived fast, doesn't mean the food was something that had been sitting around all morning in steam trays. we had two 2-item lunch specials (a steal at $7.99 each, plus comes with an egg roll & soup) & an order of bbq pork. since we had never eaten there, we chose some "standards", nothing too wild: mongolian beef, orange chicken, almond chicken & beef & broccoli. the food was hot & fresh, the veggies tender-crisp & it wall had great flavors. plus the portions were huge! each container weighed a ton. it was enough to turn into a couple meals actually.
