one of the best places for walnut shrimp. the lunch buffet was okay, but the dine-in menu is amazing! only reason i go in. fried rice, walnut prawns and kung pao chicken :)

i ordered take-out, and have not been to the restaurant, but was extremely dissatisfied with the quality and overall taste. too much oil and inferior ingredients. if you like anything remotely quality, not for you. if you like gut-bombs and cheap-cheap quality food, maybe. i'd recommend safeway chinese over this.

can't beat the price. when we want to pig out on chinese food that's close to home, we go here. food is reliably good-not amazing-good. the deal they seem to always have is two adults for $12.99 + cost of drinks. not bad at all. the owners are usually super friendly, but the rest of the staff could use some training. they are improving the decor, but it still has a long way to go (please dear god, get rid of those horrible blinds. walmart sells some decent curtains for cheap. put them on tension rods and voila! please!)

another note: they advertise dim sum. if you are like me, you probably thought "finally! spokane has dim sum!". not really. they offer a few different types, but that menu is really limited to more appetizer style stuff. personally, i really like getting to pick out dim sum from the carts (like most dim sum places in seattle), but no, you order it just like a regular menu item. anyhow, we will continue to frequent this restaurant for their buffet as long as it stays so cheap!

no fancy....at all..however, the food is fresh and excellent. i had the buffet, and was skeptical. i can't wait to come back!

fresh food great price. we usualy order delivery adn decided to try the eat-in experience.the food was delicious and the service was great.i have been to many other chinese resturants here and this one is the best by far.i would recommend this place to others.

yummy. we had the dinner buffet and it was really good, everything was fresh and very tasty. you could never tell from the outside what wonderful food was inside. the building is older, but it was clean and there was no odor, which is something that cannot be said of most asian restaurants. we will go back again...soon/

great food and delivery!!. i haven't been into the actual restaurant (but plan to go & try the buffet), so this review is strictly on their delivery service & that food. i was busy working & craving chinese food. i had received a flyer in the mail for them so i figured why not try their delivery.

delivery service: super fast! not to mention i ordered right at lunch time & it was on the day of our first snowfall. 30 minutes for 2 meals, plus an appetizer! the delivery person was very friendly, as was the woman who took my order.

food: just because it arrived fast, doesn't mean the food was something that had been sitting around all morning in steam trays. we had two 2-item lunch specials (a steal at $7.99 each, plus comes with an egg roll & soup) & an order of bbq pork. since we had never eaten there, we chose some "standards", nothing too wild: mongolian beef, orange chicken, almond chicken & beef & broccoli. the food was hot & fresh, the veggies tender-crisp & it wall had great flavors. plus the portions were huge! each container weighed a ton. it was enough to turn into a couple meals actually.

good take out and delivery. we have used this place for years for take out and delivery. we've tried the local competition around 423 and eldorado and nothing comes close. this place is always fresh and tasty and delivery is super fast.

quite good actually!. on 8/20/2012 my wife and i were feeling like having some chinese food and also feeling adventurous so we tried a new place - new to us that is - called hong kong express.

on first look it is an average looking building and the inside decor is a bit dated. we did not mind as we have eaten in places where the building and decor were excellent while the food would be horrid and we have found other places where the building/decor is just so-so to poor while the food was superb. looks do not indicate quality of a product.

the folks who work here are friendly in my opinion, but that will always depend upon the individual and what your expectations are when you walk in the door. yoko the main person at the front is very efficient and is really great with the children that came in while we were there. she seems really at ease with them and takes time to interact with them in a natural and unforced manner. as a parent of two boys, one a 8 y/o & one a 4&1/2 y/o, this easy going treatment of children is so important when going out to eat.

the food we ordered which was not the buffet, was well made and seemed to be very, very fresh and was in both of our opinions delicious.

1) i ordered the two-item dinner special with szechuan chicken and ma po tofu (with steamed rice & egg roll) which both were very good tasting. the ma po tofu was not, however, made with the szechuan peppercorn (which if you have had the numbing/tingly/spicy flavor/effect before you would understand) which was a small letdown, but it still tasted great to me.

2) my wife kathi ordered the mongolian beef & the moo goo gai pan (with steamed rice & egg roll), she said both were excellent tasting but the mongolian beef, was just a bit spicier than she preferred, but that it still tasted good, she would just remember to ask them to tone down the spiciness next time. :-)

the place is definitely worth the time and money spent to try it out. i am going to have to try them again as they deliver also, which is great!! if not that then i'll have to come in for the dim sum though as i have never had this before and want to try it.

meh.. we had the lunch buffet and it was...meh. not good, not bad. i wouldn't recommend it to others, and i wouldn't go back.

the food was good but it took almost two whole hours to get our food and when we finally got it, it was barely warm. and to top it off our order was partially wrong. i wouldnt recommend it because of the crappy service.

all my dna happy; me not so much.... with good reviews, and a dim sum menu, i was hoping this place would separate itself from dozens of other chinese joints in our area. they didn't. i did not do the buffet, but all of my six kids opted for it. they all liked it, but when you get right down to it, most kids do. chinese buffets have a shrewdly special ingredient they add to all their sauces which kids crave. it's called.....sugar. my food report is on their dim sum. frankly, i can--and have--gotten exactly everything i ordered from the frozen section of some of the larger asian markets in town, and my bamboo steamer at home would do the job just as well. that's not to say it all wasn't okay, and gringos who don't culinarily experiment at home would probably like it all. service was strangely somber, but i don't expect much from buffets. in the end, i should have prepared myself better to not expect a facimile of the excellent dim sum i've had in the international district in seattle. my fault, and not this place's. and still we wait for a good dim sum joint in spokane...

another spokane gem! go for the off-the-menu items.... i hadn't been here in a while, and thought maybe i'd only dreamed that we had dim sum in spokane. it's always nice to realize that my pleasant, now fading memory was indeed true, and that the dim sum they serve here is very good. they have a decent variety, and it is cooked to order. they know what they're doing back there in the kitchen.

i didn't have anything terribly unusual along dim sum lines -- steamed bbq pork buns, shrimp dumplings, pork siu mai; but it was all very good and fresh. there was one item -- a lily-leaf-wrapped chicken and sticky rice combo that was a little different, and delicious. the hot and sour soup is excellent, with a true kick to it; and the foil wrapped chicken, fried shrimp, and shrimp and leek patties were also tasty. our neighbors at the next table were having a hot pot feast, which looked and smelled wonderful, so i'll go back and try that next time.

these items -- dim sum and hot pot (and also the related shabu-shabu, a japanese-style hot pot, apparently) -- are off the menu items. be sure to ask for them. i don't know what was in their buffet, but i skipped that.

service, by the way, was attentive and excellent.

. the food they serve is asian/chinese food but they give you a large quantity for the price. i normally spent $10 on a dinner meal (2 courses and fried rice) and it lasted me 3 meals so that's not bad at all. the people are well one lady can sound very rude however she really isn't she is just kind of different. if you get delivery there is a $15 minimum but it is a place that has great food so i would recommend trying it. they also have a buffet for those who want to

always fun and delicious. try the hot and sour soup. it is great.
i've been coming here for a while, and ordering off the menu, but i have to agree, the buffet is a great deal. they put out small quantities, and keep them fresh. no "hours old" overheated items here.
the main order taker/waitress is on maternity leave, but she has a fantastic sense of humor. take her jibes in the spirit intended.
