not as good as it could be. great venue in terms of the appearance and ambience. we were very excited to come here and had high hopes but unfortunately we were disappointed. we shared the grilled octopus for starter but when it came out it was extremely small and definitely not worth $14 even though it was nice tasting.. then for main i had the mussels which consisted of around 18 mussels, a lot had their beards on them still and the sauce was nice but nothing to write home about. my husband had the burger which was ok but places liked grill'd and jus burgers serve much better products. the chips that came with the burger were all very overcooked and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. the service was also very slow - we waited around an hour for our meals to come out which i could have forgiven if it was worth the wait, all in all we would definitely not return based on this experience.

lovely location, decent beer, average service and lousy food.
the food, rather than being brought to a customers table was placed on a side table near the bar with a number beside it. customers are given an estimated time of arrival and urged to check said side table around then for thier food.
cue food going missing, taken by other customers, arriving early and being allowed to cool to room temperature over a half hour. food orders arriving piece meal and re-orders a plenty due to mix ups and dissatisfied customers.
less than hygenic.
as to personal experience, my wife and i ordered a medium rare scotch fillet with a mango cheesecake dessert for myself. she selected the masala chicken and chia creme brulee for herself.
the desserts arrived well before the main meal and we're consequently sent back to the kitchen. her chicken masala was less than flavourful with a half cup of hardend rice, while my steak was more well-done than medium rare, with a delightful (sic) side of cold vegetables.
we will not be returning.

disappointed to say the least !!!! the brewery was more likely a sterile cafeteria with no ambiance or atmosphere just a noisy cafeteria. food was over priced and lacked any real love, although the korean wings were nice they were drowned in so much sauce it was over powering, the chips were cold and burger pattie dry and burnt bun for $70 with a drink each you can get better down the local pub.

took my mum for lunch today and it was simply amazing, lovely venue, terrific friendly staff and amazing wine and food.
i had the roast beef mum the scotch fillet. the roast beef was a superb dish the beef was melt in your mouth stuff served on the most incredible potato mash, so delicious.
the scotch was cooked perfectly and really satisfied. all in all full compliments to the chef, a first class experience all round.

we went here at the weekend for birthday family lunch. food was average and overpriced. fish was overcooked and we got very little meat on the pizza.
customer service was shocking. the lady at the cashier can not handle when we complained that we ware not told that we only have a table for 90 minutes when we made a booking by phone. the lady who at the counter seems she does not care. she just want us to pay and leave. when we addresssed again the issue as we did not get proper respond. she got annoyed and said she said 'ive got your name and number, i will block you!'. we were shocked. never get treated poorly like that before. we were paying more than $200 and the service that we received was worse than mcdonalds. i think she might be the manager. the birthday lady was quite upset because of this.
if you do not want your special occassion to be ruined, i suggest do not come to this place. i strongly do not recommend this place.

lovely place but service needs to improve, menu options too limited.

firstly i wanted to say that the bar and wait staff were amazing despite the manager.

we ordered with the manager and after she had confirmed the right amount of meals sent it to the kitchen. when the food came out one of the meals were missing. i approached the manager twice to rectify the situation but she avoided me both times (at this time it was not busy) by walking away. i instead went to the bar and asked for the missing meal. they had to retake the order. it was tamara (one of the staff) that came to apologise and fix the issue.

the manager seemed stressed, disinterested in customers and unprofessional (raising voices at different customers, flustered and pushing around other staff).

the food was adequate for the price, but our experience was a disappointment because of the manager.

the pizzas were good but nothing amazing. the lamb pizza was pretty bland. their chips are amazing though - super crunchy and not overly oily.

fabulous food served with best wines on offer in sawn valley is the main attraction from this restaurant. we spent the time having breakfast & lunch here, and the food and drinks definitely live up to standard.

a few months ago, we had the praises of the mandoon estate and its casual dining restaurant - the homestead brewery - sung to us, so we decided to make a day trip of it to the swan valley and check this place out. we got there around a funny time (about 2 pm, hoping to avoid the crowds), and boy was the place was packed. even at 2 pm in the afternoon, there was a massive queue already formed outside the restaurant. there was even a large sign with a clock hand pointing to the number of minutes making up the estimated wait time.

upmarket place with precious materidee. cannot rate the food because all we had was an shared entrée and drinks. waited an hour for main and the restaurant was not even busy when we arrived. had to give up waiting and left. not recommend for tourist who do not travel with formal clothes

the chips are to die for!! i was expecting mandoon to be quiet for a monday lunch but it was actually quite busy! spot on service, yummy food, delicious wine, and nice views overlooking the vines!

i was a big fan of homestead brewery- it was busy but we were able to grab a spot on the deck which overlooks the vineyard. we got the tasting paddle - a good selection of brews and a selection of share plates including morcilla & prosciutto croquettes, buffalo chicken wings (order these!), homemade malt & beer bread and a vincenzo pizza. all items went down a treat! 🍻🍕

went for lunch and we were seated outside on one of the high tables. service was really good with water served almost immediately followed by the beer we ordered. the duck pizza was great.
