this place rocks!!. the menu is substantial and dynamic, the food is great, and the ambiance is perfect if you like a good dive. the service is great too.

you can have a great outing just having the appetizers on the menu, but go deep on the main courses and just bring back the leftovers. they serve the best example of the bloody mary in town. perfect, perfect, perfect--and cheap, too.

normally i like dive bars, but this place was really horrible. the food was particularly bad and the drinks expensive and weak.

great service, awesome patio, good drinks, and the best bacon i've had in town! skip anything with fries — they're soggy. peanut butter bacon burger is amazing!

not the same. we used to go to holmans almost every sunday for bloody marys and breakfast. the service hasn't been the same since mel left.the servings are smaller and i'm scared some of the dust hanging from the ceiling,fans and cords might fall into my food. looks like all the old staff has been replaced ( didn't recognize any of the servers) makes me wonder if there's new owners? the food is still good but don't think we'll return.

i seriously love this place for what it is, the service can be spotty or it can be good, the food is inconsistent (stick with the happy hour menu, the portion sizes will prevent a ill belly), but the crowd is casual, drinks are reasonable and the music is cute. it's basicly an old man bar with only one old man in it.

mo money no problems. i had my first peanut butter burger here, which was fantastic, and then won 30$ at one of the slot machines, which was also fantastic.

bloody mary bar? yes please. awesome patio to sit and relax with your very own bloody mary concoction. decent food, great staff, good place to go.

just right. i really like holman's. as a bar it is everything you could ask for; strong drinks, a great happy hour, ($2 wells) bartenders that are just friendly enough, sporting a variety of clientele from all walks of life. as a restaurant it also works; ive had great breakfasts (thickest bacon around) and good burgers here, with only the occasional letdown (pulverized bacon). holmans is an unassuming nuts and bolts neighborhood dive with character to burn.

best late night food in portland!. 2 years ago i came to portland on a weekend trip. i had been traveling all day and really wanted a burger and fries...but couldn't find anything. i noshed and nibbled but wasn't satisfied, late night i'm jonesin for a burger and fries. holman's! oh my god is all i have to say...go, you won't be sorry.
