hoggs gourmet grill

i hate to say this but.... the owner of hoggs is just the nicest guy around. i almost didn't post a review just for that fact. my problem with hoggs bbq is that "slow-cookin'" is only part of the formula. you have to infuse the meat with real smoke flavors too. i got the sampler platter with ribs, pulled pork, chicken and anduille sausage. the portion was ok for a hungry guy but: the chicken was dry, the ribs were just ok, and the pulled pork was tender. none of the meat had any smoke flavor and the bbq sauce was standard commercial texture and perhaps a bit on the hot side for most. i don't know how these guys cook their product but it tasted almost pressure-cooked which means bland.
i prefer hoggs to smokey canyon though because smokey canyon has an opposite problem. they use far too much hickory smoke in their bbq. i even overheard the owner say she liked to use oak for special occasions, yuk!!
i'm still on the hunt for decent bbq in riverside county, until i find it i think my buddy n i will stick to our backyard smokers and continue to burn that good ol fruitwood which is miles more mellow than hickory or god-forbid oak. happy eating all.

the best eats. love this place - and enjoy the consistent quality. they have not cut any corners on their ingredients/menu and continue to serve the best hamburgers in our area.
like the company there too!

i love bbq not hoggs. i have had great bbq all over this country. i was told that"you just got to try hoggs" well i did today for lunch. i won't be back. my wife didn't care for it either. i have been burping liquid smoke all afternoon. lame sauce. hole inthe wall. website look much better than the restaurant. my said the best thing about her sandwich was that the bread was fresh

amazing food and great service at a low price! hoggs has some of the best meats i've ever had. the owner is very friendly and the staff is very attentive. his burgers are made with authentic angus chuck, not that bs angus beef you now find at fast food restaurants, and you can get a burger for about the same price as carl's jr. other ingredients are fresh and the buns are fluffy and fresh. his jalapeno bacon is to die for. his inside decor makes you feel like your out at your rich friends house having a lovely bbq in the backyard. hoggs is a must go!

i love hoggs. i am big on little mom and pop shops and i have to tell you that hoggs is the greatest place i have ever been too. best burgers and sausages ever. jeff the owner is way nice and you can tell that he backs any and everything he serves. the only problem i see is that his burgers and sausages are so good i can't bring myself to trying anything else. i have heard great things about the tri tip and club sandwich and they will be next on my list. hoggs also has a giant burger called the quad hogg. i ate the giant burger so that i could have my picture on the wall of fame. advice on the quad hogg, eat fast because its a lot. one last thing is that hoggs is kid friendly as well. i brought my 2 and 6 year old son and daughter to hoggs and i was greeted by jeff the owner and he got toys out of a toy box he has inside the shop so that my kids had something to do. i love hoggs. it would be a crime to be in the city of moreno valley and not stop at hoggs.

first timer finds freakin' fun food!. our friend art had told us guys about this excellent lunch place-and how he once demolished a "quad hogg burger"-and got his picture taken. i'm a bit of a bbq bacon burger buff but this time was chomping at the bit for something new, something different. what happened next would change my entire concept of what a chiliburger should be; could be.

i asked jeff (the proprietor) if he could build me a burger i envisioned that was not on the menu. he was thrilled and encouraged me to explore his carte du jour. this was my burger vision:

it starts with a tasty warm bun, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. this is topped with his famed hogg burger, two slices of bacon, and dripping with hot chili and cheese. finally this monster is crowned with one of his massive grilled gourmet cajon sausages. the rest… is history.

sure, i was flattered when jeff called it the "barry burger" and everyone at our table laughed, licked, lapped, and ate well that day. hoggs transcends normal burger bar fare into artful cuisine-a fodder phenomenon.

just great. i don't live in the area, i work in moreno valley sometimes, all i can say is i wish they would open a hoggs where i live, the food is fantastic and the service is very friendly, highly recommended.

great bbq. this place is absolutely one of the best places we like to go eat at. the bbq is fantastic....and they have the best hamburgers! the owners, are great people, fun to talk and visit with, just really down to earth folks. my husband and i go weekly and we really enjoy the food and the company.

down home bar-b-q taste at great prices!. hoggs gourmet grill, i stumbled across them one night while looking for something different to eat and i discovered great down home bar-b-q taste at very reasonable prices! the smell and boy oh boy the taste. the people there were great!. it was as if i ran into some old friend having a backyard cook-out. what a great tasting food find! i definitely will become a regular!
