dad's 75th birthday. since dad lives south and we live north, thehilltoprestaurant made for a perfect half-way meeting place for our family to celebrate dad's birthday. there were 11 of us who methilltopthat sunday afternoon. we made a reservation and brought on own cake. the staff athilltopgreeted us friendly and ready to meet our special occasion needs.
the table was set-up with tomato juice, pickled beets, and crudites. many menu items were "ordered" to meet the paletes of each. the fried chicken was moist, the roast beef was tender, and baked pork chops were worth ordering upon a re-visit; however, i do not recommend the steak--small, thin, and dry. keeping this in mind, we were not at a steak house. the family-style sides (tossed salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn) were tastefully presented and our server was prompt with everyone's request- filling drinks, collecting emtpy dishes, and just the right amount of service without being over-bearing. after the meal, the intire staff presented the cake with clean dishes and sang "happy birthday" to our dad.
my family all agreeded we would return to thehilltopsometime soon.
