one of the best options in the area if you work in the ifsc which i do! they do great daily sandwich and quiche specials which are reasonably priced- can be halved and had with a cup of their soup special also. the scallop linguini and turkey burger are both delicious, quite expensive for a work lunch but good for a meeting or work lunch also. need to book particularly on friday

okay. good for a week day brunch if you are off. the weekend brunch menu is not very different to the weekday one, yet the prices are significantly higher. the staff can be pretty unfriendly if you don't have a booking. seats outdoors are lovely if it is sunny, indoors lacks any character.

herbsteet restaurant was advertised as just that, with glowing reviews and a passion for sustainability i was excited to see that it was located at the grand central dock, just around the corner from our dublin hotel.

the interior of the restaurant was simplistic but with character in a what i can only describe as a scandinavian style. though the walls were a a matt grey there were pops of colour and natural elements scattered throughout. one of these quirky colour features was the lighting: 109 leds were placed within a tubular system made from recycled conduit which used the same amount of power as a 100 watt bulb, not only environmentally friendly but also an interesting decorative piece.

though the lighting had a futuristic look there was also a homely feeling created using plants and harry bertoia chairs covered in cutesy animal prints. this place was a wonderful mix of contemporary and natural, which was also emulated in their food.

the restaurant took a modern twist on classic dishes, using ingredients sourced from as close a proximity as possible to minimise the carbon footprint and that were also derived from sustainable sources.

the first dish i tried was the eggos mexicalos, a construction of 2 baked eggs on a spicy habanero tomato sauce, spring onions, fresh chopped tomatoes with swiss cheese and steamed baby spinach. this layered dish was oozing with delicious runny eggs and cheese which combined together in a wonderful tasty mess. to take this one step further we also ordered a side of zesty guacamole.

i enjoy eating with my hands as i feel it creates and additional sensory element, and is also much more sociable. so i was pleased that the meal was finished off with a side of the lightly salty chips which made for a convenient scoop to gather all the ingredients.

next was to move onto the sautéed wild mushrooms on toast, which was served in a light roasted garlic and truffle cream sauce, on thick cut toasted brioche, finished off with a pile of rocket and roast cherry tomato. the fresh crunch of the salad balanced out the incredibly rich creamy mushrooms perfectly. both dishes were incredibly different from one another yet equally palatable.

though i was initially looking for somewhere close by to help my hangover subside i got much more from this vibrant little restaurant with great values and food to match.

had the best breakfast i’ve had in years at this venue. i can’t recall the name of it but it was avocado, eggs and sourdough with a delicious yoghurt. absolutely to die for. i wish i didn’t leave it to the last day to try this place otherwise it definitely would have made another appearance on my itinerary. coffee was nice and staff were friendly. perfection all round!

the herbstreet is located in a new area of dublin, very pleasant and calm. the place is, as comment by a friend, "the right mixture of busy and slow". don't be put off but the prices, that are on the less affordable side of things, because portions sizes accomaby that price hike and the quality is there. i had a standard irish/english breakfast which really didnt leave a lot of room for me to try other people's choices. which you may have noticed is something i do frequently, so i laughed in the face of a certain tummy ache and did it anyway. the eggos mexicalos, what could be described as eggs in cocote meets mexico, was very interesting but i'm not a fan of the tortilla chips. our request to cancel the blueberry and maple syrup pancakes got too late so we all had to do our beat to deal with that as well, not becaise they weren't really good - they were -, but everybody was missing a 2nd stomach to store all the food.
the rating is a bit lower than deserved due to the staff not being particularly nice, onde particular wireless being quite rude to be exact. a pity becausr the scenario, the location, the food, all wraps in nicely and begs for a bit more recognition that the attitude really didn't allow that elevation.

best place for brunch! when i want to treat myself with a weekend brunch, i go here! everything is delicious and the place is lovely. you can't book and often need to get there early to not wait too long outside. highly recommended.

for some reason i thought there were no good breakfast options near the marker hotel (grand canal) where i was staying. my online reading had me listing fumbally, green 19 and whitefriar grill as options but none near me. i was very lucky to find herbstreet on zomato, and even luckier that i had been drinking the night before and so needed a later start to the day.

i have been to herbstreet twice, i got a veggie burger both times and it was lovely! there is a great atmosphere and staff are really friendly.
we were running late and arrived half an hour after our booking, although we were late there was no issue, which is rare for a busy restaurant in the city centre.
it is perfect for a pre show meal.

i reeeally liked herbstreet! the location is fab, the views gorgeous. i came for brunch with two of the girls on a saturday morning. we'd no reservation but the lovely waitress set us up outside, which i was happy for because the weather was nice (for once)! i arrived first but sat blissfully out in the sun looking out at the view! one thing i have to mention is their music. their playlist was so good!!

i went for pancakes, chocolate chip with whipped cream. i also went for a tall stack, i was too ambitious!! 6 pancakes and they were a generous helping. unfortunately, i think i made a poor choice. i thought the pancakes needed more chocolate 'cause they were a little dry. you needed the cream! i know its brunch, but icecream would've gone so well with them too. i think next time i'd go for maple syrup and bacon. now don't get me wrong i ate a lot of them! i couldn't hack them all though, so filling! i also got two glasses of prosecco which was so good of course!

i am most definitely going to be back here and soon. i want to try the dinner menu and more brunch! the location is so central, staff lovely, the view gorgeous and the food fab.

had a pleasant brunch here today with a dull view of the grand canal dock unfortunately, other than that the service and food was superb. only flaw for me was the gooeyness of the sweet potato wedges that came with my turkey burger. skinny fries are a must, v addictive.

went here for brunch on sunday. had the blueberry pancakes with bacon which were delish, my boyfriend had the eggos mexicalos which also looked good! however for me the service let this place down. straight over to take our order when we had only sat down, and not that friendly when they came back. to top it off as our plates were cleared we were handed the bill. found this quite rude as if they were pressuring us to leave. probably won't be back because of this.
