we just celebrated my beautiful ones birthday here. my only draw back was i couldn't take any photos because it was so dark. however, the food and the ambience don't need much to show or describe it. why because this place left me speechless. menu is awesome, drinks explosive. we where a party of six we ordered all over the menu. well worth it can guarantee you will love it.

herbs and rye is surely a delight for great italian food in the town, the downside is they do not have much vegetarian food options. i had the bruschetta and another dish. i had to ask the server to make the dish without any meat. the server was kind enough to help me with my requirements. the service is great and the presentation and taste of the food is totally the worth of the money charged.

herbs & rye is a dark and dimly lit restaurant & lounge located about 7 minutes off the strip. the menu consists of classic american & italian fare like juicy steaks and pasta. additionally herbs & rye's massive menu of handcrafted cocktails is arranged by the period of which the cocktail was made famous.

we sipped on cocktails from the "prohibition era," spanning from 1920-1933. this is a late night spot. a perfect place for a late dinner and night cap cocktail. they close at 3 am.

cocktails: the rat pack and the hemingway are great options!
food: calamari, steak and potatoes are delish!

heavily praised for an extensive era-specific list of craft cocktails with a menu full of sustainable organic meats and plates far more interesting than the average bar or lounge herbs & rye had long been a place of interest and with recent reports suggesting the kitchen to be firing on all cylinders i finally decided to stop by, a saturday feast for one in the dimly-lit dining area my reward for eschewing alternative plans on las vegas boulevard south. designed in a style somewhere between “old time vegas”

all and all this is a good restaurant with price points of a better restaurant. some of our dinner was just "ok". while other parts were great. i'd like to see them take their salads to a proper level.

with that in mind, this place has great ambiance and better service. great late night spot! which is probably what drives the costs. however as a local, it may be a while before i roll back here. not that i'd be opposed. but there better or more creative late night options.

didn't get a chance to taste the food. horrible experience. i went there on friday evening and i was still waiting for my order an hour later. paid for the wine and left.

i'm sure it's great food, but go on a week night. and it's a small parking lot.

great restaurant and definitely a must off strip. the meatballs and chorizo and the spicy mussels were excellent. i also had the frisco and the brown derby cocktails were great. we were so stuffed, we didn't order steak entrees we are the main attractions. the fresh made donuts were an excellent dessert choice. now, it's dark and cozy, so i think it's best for a romantic dinner. the decor is of 20's prohibition which adds to the pizazz of the drink specialties. i want to go back before leaving vegas.

after driving pass by  herbs & rye  for many years i finally went in to see what all the hype was about this place.  they serve classic cocktails that were popular during the prohibition era and before that time like the gothic age (unknown-1865) and golden age (1865-1900): here's an example of of some of the drinks: i loved all the drinks they made, wasn't disappointed with any of them: herbs & rye also serves italian food like  flatbreads , pasta, and  they're known for the steaks they cook, i'll try some next time!  i only had the appetite to drink: i really enjoyed my time here especially the atmosphere of a " speakeasy feel".  they get busy during the weekends so if you plan to dine in, make a reservation !

so nice, i ate here twice!!. i recently returned home from a week long trip to vegas and find myself telling everyone about one thing! the amazing food we had at herbs & rye. the first night we shared a caesar salad ( top 2 caesars i've had), the calamari ( crisp, perfectly seasoned, banana peppers, creamy sauce. soooo good!!)

the second night we arrived during happy hour and ordered 1/2 price steaks. i had the filet and chose broccoli and sharp cheddar as my side. d had the ribeye and the truffle mac and cheese. this was by far the tastiest meal i've had in ages. perfectly cooked melt in my mouth filet. but the star was the broccoli and cheddar. outstanding. even my carnivorous companion mentioned that as good as the steaks are, the broccoli was the star!!

love this place:)

also, wonderful speakeasy atmosphere and turn of the century drinks. beauty!

herbs and rye cocktailthe cocktails they serve are all authentic classics – creative variations are not encouraged, in fact i could tell i made the bartender rather uncomfortable when i asked about them, and that’s a good thing! the bar is teaming with liquors, cordials, bitters (many house-made), glassware (they even have copper mugs for a proper moscow mule) and garnishes. they use premium ingredients and take care to build your cocktail the way it might have been done fifty years, or one hundred and fifty years ago. the drinks are strong and flavorful, and the bartenders are knowledgeable enough to help you discover your new favorite old drink. if you already have a favorite, they can probably make it – correctly.
