the ambiance and the food at hemmingway's restaurant do justice to ernest hemmingway: it is as flavourful as his writing.
dimmed lights, the fireplace, beautiful wine cellar and splendid piano music creates an unique ambiance. the tables are well placed, away from the busy kitchen and bar.
the variety on the menu is good with starters, main dishes, lighter dishes and pizzas. the combination of foods is complimenting, and although guests are requested not to substitute ingredients, i was accommodated when i asked them to leave out an ingredient. i ordered a pizza, because each pizza is named after one of hemmingway's books. i do not know if it is because i love africa's luscious summers so much, but the green hills of africa was an excellent choice. the baked cheese cake is without doubt the best i ever had.
although the waiter forgot to bring my americano with the cheese cake, i still feel that thestaffwas very professional, well trained and added to a most enjoyable evening.
the prices might not fit a budget for a family outing on a friday evening, but it is absolutely good value for money.
