on a recent road trip to seattle, we were in search of delicious burgers from dick’s drive-in and we passed by a heaven sent fried chicken , a small fast food fried chicken chain in seattle. it’s owned by ezell stephens, who was the original creator of ezell’s fried chicken , but has since parted ways and owns three of the heaven sent fried chicken restaurants (seattle, everett and renton). howgoodis this fried chicken that it’s heaven sent? we had to go and try it out! upon arrival, the inside was adorn with celebrity photos of those who have eaten at the chain, including oprah winfrey ! if oprah liked this chicken, so should we right? so we ordered a 3 piece dark meat meal, which included 3 pieces of juicy fried chicken, along with 2 sides to choose from (we selected mashed potatoes with gravy and coleslaw) and a biscuit. in addition we ordered a slice of sweet potato pie, side order of collard greens, and a piece of corn bread. the collard greens were decent for the fast food sele

all this media attention about how ezell’s famous fried chicken was named the america most life-changing fried chicken by esquire magazine and the restaurant’s separation from mr. ezell williams himself. i think it’s only fitting i compare the original ezell’s and the new heaven sent fried chicken (started by mr. williams). first impressions of the place. from the menu, the tables, and the colors it looks almost exactly the same as ezell’s. the quality and taste of the food on the other hand was a little different. i really love the rolls that comes with the dinner meal. they were sweet like hawaiian rolls. bbq beans were prettygoodbut not spectacular. mash potatoes and gravy i really did not like. the gravy hadgoodflavor but the mash had this weird watery consistency. like it comes from instant mix or something. as for the chicken i got the 2 piece white with spicy batter.

not asgoodas i had hoped.. so today i had a massive craving for fried chicken and i was too lazy to cook it myself. instead of going down the road to kfc (and i rarely eat fast food) i decided to venture-out and try ezell's. they had a great variety and the price as good, but when i came home and started to nibble i was utterly disappointed.

the chicken was bland, the sides were okay. i hate to admit it, but i should have just gone to kfc...
