good food, cheap, friendly. this is the sort of place you might remember from traveling with your parents or grandparents. nothing fancy, just great food and very friendly staff.

great place for breakfast.... inexpensive, good food and friendly staff at this casual cafe. there's onsite parking available.

they take cash and check only--since i don't carry checks any longer, i have to remember to make sure i have cash when i come here..

mediocre. this place fooled me. whenever i drive by it's always packed so i assumed it was going to be amazing. i ordered the western omelet. i deeply regret this because i hate processed cheese and that's what this omelet had on it, real cheese is not that much more expensive. i ordered sausage, egg and toast for my son. my son loves sausage and he took one bite of their sausage patty and said it was gross, i didn't make him eat it. the grape juice i watched her pour from a bottle, i believe it's the same for all the other juice they serve. nothing to write home about. their prices were noticeably cheap so i guess i shouldn't expect too much from the food. i think locals flock here for the cheap prices because i could make better at home.

would like to review the food, but we were told we couldn't be served. the door stated they were open till 2, we arrived at 1:35. apparently they really close at 1:30, the whole 2 thing is just a ruse. if you don't want to work till 2/2:30, then change your hours!

decent enough for what it is. grade: b-

harold & cathy's is a small, unassuming spot that caters to what appears to be a loyal clientele ranging from young parents to retirees and even, on the sunday morning we went, a brigadier general and his wife. small and a bit tight, its walls are lined with tributes to the military and remembrances of 9/11.

a couple of quirks include placing your order at the counter and then having it brought to your table by a waitress and having to go to said counter to get your own coffee refills.

the food is decent but not with too much that is made on-site. many things are prepackaged sysco-type restaurant fare. the orange juice was a watered-down reconstitution. the pancakes were served with packets of "table syrup", which was corn syrup bearing a misleading label showing maple leaves. the scrapple was a commercial brand.

the bread used for the toast was a notch better than a standard loaf, showing a dusting of flour on its edge. a dense biscuit could have been homemade. it was topped with a very tasty sausage gravy that was a highlight of the meal.

nothing here was out of the park, but nothing here was the least bit expensive either. for what it was, a little mom & pop joint, it provided a nice, inexpensive option for breakfast that seems to have won over its customers.
