harlow's cafe

this is an amazing place to go for breakfast. very american. it has traditional all american breakfast. very close to asu. i love the hospitality and it has a very warm and welcoming ambience. prices are from 8-15 usd. quite worth the effort. the staff is very good and friendly too.

their homemade chorizo is awesome, probably the best i've ever had. great service. fast and friendly. i'd frequent this place if i lived here.

great breakfast and service. great breakfast dining experience at harlow's with my wife. i had the ham and eggs with a short stack, wife had waffle, bacon and hash browns. really good flavor, quick and friendly service. two thumbs up, we will be back.

came here on a monday and were seated right away, good start to the morning. heard people talking about how great the food is and looked like a lot of older people and locals. tried the corn hash omelet and it was blah. potatoes were not holden's bs crispy and reminded me of slightly more done mashed potatoes. nothing special. thought i found a local gem but was very disappointed

used to enjoy it more. i used to be a regular. i enjoyed the dive style, friendly wait staff, close location, and reasonable prices (think denny's with a soul).the short order diner breakfast style can be decent and occasionally they have some good specials (most of which are mostly just 50 cents off, not exactly something to write home about).

a year or two ago, they started raising the price from about $7 a plate to $10. it's a pretty large markup for refried beans, eggs, and some potatoes. forget about ordering sides, which come to a couple dollars for one egg. frankly, the price really doesn't match the quality, and you can find better breakfast areas in the valley for the same price.

i used to like harlows but realized the food at best is decent and thier markup is huge. i believe that if not for the lack of quality breakfast joints in the valley, harlows would not be rated as well as it is.

good food/bad parking. the breakfast menu at harlow's is very good. old style cafe with great service and huge portions, so come hungry. parking is limited and is full early, so be aware.

az food critic not so impressed. wasn't impressed with the food. portions are way too big and i was very disappoited when i had to ask the meat to be sent back as the waitress agreed it was not fully cooked. how would anyone be able to consume the portions you serve. in az we use a rating scale of 1-8 stars. this restaurant rates as a 3. (parking is terrible) see our new publication due september 2012 "restaurant critics choice".

great food at very reasonable prices. staff was very friendly and made me feel at home. definatley a local favorite!!

phenominal. great food, great service and great prices! get there early place gets busy!

breakfast: heaven on a plate. if you want the best chicken-fried steak breakfast ever, then this is your place. period.

put harlow's on your "must" list. a full parking lot on a saturday morning means only one thing...this is a goin' concern! a good friend referred me to harlow's when i asked for, "the best place for breakfast" in tempe. i've been back twenty times over the past two years and include it on my tour when out of town guests arrive. harlow's serves thee best coffee in phoenix; the servers are gorgeous; the biscuits are fresh out of the oven; the breakfast choices are varied, spicy and delicious. try the percy if you want to start your day with a bang. if you're a single, saddle up to the breakfast counter and watch the cooks create and assemble every selection from eggs benedict, belgian waffles, pancakes, omelettes, etc. harlow's is a great spot...don't miss it!

most amazing breakfast!. they have great coffee, fresh muffins and amazing omelets! i wish i could go there more often! trust me if there is a wait...it is totally worth it!

fantastic. i was alone so i sat at the bar right away, but there were people waiting for a table outside. i ordered the eggs maximilian, which was a fluffy scrambled egg on top of hash browns and green chilies on top of a tortilla, with salsa and sour cream on top. i also had chorizo in mine. it was great, and huge! i had to take some home for later. there are several non-meat options for vegetarians, as well.

honestly, there's not much else to say. the breakfast was amazing, and the service was great, especially considering that the place was packed. the location isn't great since (for some reason) there is always a lot of traffic around hardy/university, making the turn out of the parking lot tricky. fortunately, i live about 2 blocks from the place so i can easily walk. i absolutely loved it, and i can't wait to come back for more!

young hot waitresses and bacon. as good as it gets.
