this is the best restaurant i have visited in darwin. the staff are very friendly and knowledgable and there is a lovely atmosphere. not to mention the food, it's outstanding!!!! thankyou!

great food. one of the best restaurants in darwin, the food is amazing especially the jungle curry (highly recommended). the wait staff are friendly which just adds to the atmosphere. do not be fooled by the portion size, it may look like a small amount on the plate but you will leave with a very full belly.

what a delight - we have returned several times. having just arrived in darwin we were looking for a tasty dinner in a comfortable atmosphere. we were recommended hanuman by some friends who said they had returned several times and, since they are foodies like us, we trusted them.
we are glad we did.
now, hanuman have two "sides" to their menu: thai and indian. we were a bit concerned when we saw this but shouldn't have been. we had the thai side that night... and have been back at least three more times since for the green chicken curry, duck salad, jungle curry etc etc. delicious! we have not even tried their indian yet, so that's next on the list, but we keep getting stuck trying new thai dishes... so many spices and herbs!
the cocktails were marvellous, the wine list is ok, and the service was above average for darwin. we thought the prices were a little high ($26 for a green curry) but we have since learned that these are regular darwin prices (most places serving mains well over $30). they have indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor being quite a nice setting for a relaxed dinner. overall, hanuman is "very good" and, after visiting a number of other restaurants around town now, certainly above average for darwin.

best eggplant curry i've ever had!

lives up to the hype. i ate at hanuman's after recently moving to darwin. my partner and i went on a thursday night with no booking. the restaurant was nearly full (well the inside section anyway) and they accomodaed us straight away. we ordered several dishes to share and beer and cocktails also. the hardest part was selecting only a few things to eat! everything we chose was flavoursome and thoroughly enjoyed. the serice was well timed and verypolite.

the surprise of the night was the bill - it wasn't over priced for what we got, which is a rarity in darwin. the service was excellent and we happily added a tip to the bill as we left.

no complaints here.

awesome meal. 4 adults 3 kids great value for money and great service it's hard to get great service with even better food.what great flavours best place i've eaten in darwin so far would recommend this restaurant to anyone

alice springs hanuman. was okay. bit pricey.
chicken satay was nice but the three flavoured fish was a bit rich.
i don't understand what all the hype is

nice food but nothing exciting on the menu. waiter a pain, less entertainment and more service please. wine list very average and way overpriced even by darwin standards.

amazing food and drink. had the most amazing meal on our holiday we came over from perth. we had the lamb rogan josh, chicken and lobster. there was a problem in the kitchen with our food but maricar (manager) could not have been more helpful and bent over backwards and made sure we left happy. and we sure did the food and champagne was alot more then we expected. we had been told to go to this restaurant from our friends from perth and we could not bad mouth it. thank you maricar from hayley and john

a little pricey for the quality of food, but that’s just what you get in darwin. i have noticed over the last few visits that portions are getting smaller; i hope they don’t go too far and lose business as a result. hanuman is by far darwin’s best offering and i would hate to see it go.

not bad. expensive but the food is delicious. i wish they didn't try to be so fancy and serious with the service

i've read all the reviews befor we decided to go there. we didn't book a table in advance as we were not sure when we will be back to darwin from our day trip. so, when we arrived earlier than expected we decided to check if this place has any available tables. i guess that if we were told that there are no places we wouldn't be that disappointed. however, we waited for couple of minutes to be seated but they simply didnt pay attention, then were told that some places in front of the window are available but from the first glance it was obvious that we are not really welcome. we followed the lady and she pointed to seats that were less than a meter away from another couple who enjoyed their meals already, so it would ruin privacy for us and them but at the same time the restaurant was 80% empty and all the seats in front of windows were not occupied. i am quite sure that they didn't have bookings for those places. we asked if we can seat just one meter to the right but she said that everything is booked. than we asked to have a look at the menu as she brought only bar menu but she said that if we are not sure that we like to stay we should follow her and look at the menu next to the counter. we went to the counter and she left us there immediately witjout saying a word so we waited to be served again but no one asked if we'd like to order a,nything. we left disappointed with a strong feeling that we shouldn't stay and buy anything from those snobby guys. we wanted to have a nice dinner but the approach demonstrated by the employees made us feel that we wouldn't enjoy it there

great food, the mixed platter for two was a delight. the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere fantastic. however, it took nearly 45 minutes for our mains to arrive
