chicharron teriyaki was so simple but amazing! the blend of the nori, cheese, teriyaki sauce and crispy pork was so good.

ratatouille pizza is a good healthy-ish snack.

arroz con pollo was the winner. so tender and flavorful. best eaten with the tutong from the sizzling plate. something i would definitely crave!

thanks to zomato gold, our bill went down from 1.3k to 990. :)

love the ambience. the food that we tried were great, too! made us really curious about the rest of the food and drinks on the menu.

we tried their chicharon teriyaki which is basically bagnet (which was really crispy and good) which you will wrap in nori with cream cheese. quite new for us. haha.

and also, their arroz con pollo which is very satisfying and delectable. serving is good for two-three people.

will definitely come back!

we had the nori wraps, puff pastry pizza and the chicken rice caserole thingy. for a tiny resto near quezon ave. the food tasted great and reasonably priced. plating could use some work but i guess thats how they keep it cheap so thats good enough for me. my tastebuds and wallet were very satisfied!

i love it that the menu is short, and that the dishes are innovative and carefully chosen. there aren't any pictures on the menu, but the servers sure know how to describe each dish to the last delicious detail. my friend and i shared the chicharon terriyaki and the pollo gallo x rbm. it was a wonderfully flavorful and satisfying dinner, and i can't wait to go back for more. ❤

half saints is a relatively new restaurant in the area around abs-cbn compound. it offers pasta, pizza and other italian food. had lunch there with office friends and one of my friends is a very good cook and food critic. i don’t cook so when i do reviews i just base it on my highly subjective taste buds.

but my friend, she has no mercy when she reviews food. she doesn’t write them down though. she comments on the spot. so here goes.

she liked most of the food we ordered. she said she was actual surprised she did. i had puff pizza with shiitake, goat cheese and balsamic vinegar. it was slightly sweet and tangy and i liked it. the arroz con pollo is also good. chicken was soft and flavorful. my friend gave a thumbs up on the rest of the food.
i loved the dark chocolate dessert and the coffee too. the servings are big and for sharing.

the interiors are chic. good mood lighting for cocktails and drinks when it turns dark. the place is small, however. could fir possibly total 50 people.
we haven’t tried the cocktail drinks so we plan to go back for that. but they close at 10pm. that’s actually the time when the party starts or when the alcohol kicks in. it would be good if they at least close later.

smoking area: parking lot

sorry long post 😁 just felt the need to review this restaurant since it was our first time dining here and it was worth it. the staff was accomodating and really nice. kate explained the menu to us and recommended dishes that would best fit our tastebuds. we ordered chicharon terriyaki which i kept coming back for more. it was soo damn good. because i was a fan of cheeses we ordered the three cheese ravioli and the shitake mushroom with goat cheese and balsamic vinegar. i just kept on saying- ang sarap nito- lastly, the 64% dark chocolate tart and the himalayan pink salt just gave the dessert the sweetness it needs. it even came up with a small note with a 'happy monthsary' on it since we were celebrating ours. it was just amazing and so touching for them to take note of our little celebration. will definitely come back for more 😊 also glad to know that the owners are theresians like me. thank you tin for the warm hospitality. will definitely recommend this place to all my friends 😊

food - 5/5 stars
(in order of best #1 - to worst, but all very good)
#1⭐ arroz con pollo: super tasty and fall-off-the-bone, beautifully cooked chicken in creamy risotto-paella (good for sharing, 2-3pax if not ordering a lot and 3-4 if with a few other dishes)
#2 ⭐ gallo pinto x rbm: hearty, nakakagana beef flakes in dirty rice, with fragrant marrow (same serving size as the chicken)
#3 ⭐ chicharon teriyaki: great combo! sweet-savory flavors with a mix of textures (really appetizer serving - more for tasting than putting something in your tummy)
#4 three cheese ravioli: not too cheesy, not too tomato-y, with enough creamy-ness mixed in. as someone who usually isn't a big fan of tomato sauces, i loved it! (serving enough for 1 person having as a solo meal; 6pcs iirc of 3/4 a palm in size)
#5 tomato cream soup: same-ish as the ravioli
#6 64 chocolate tart: a bit too rich; i would have liked the whipped cream to be lighter/air-ier given how dense the tart is. tastes good though (not too sweet)
#7 puff pastry pizza with mushrooms, goat cheese, and balsamic: yummy, but the softness of both the cheese and the puff pastry crust are a little too nakakaumay; maybe add more balsamic or a crunch/harder element

bonus: ⭐great house-blend iced tea + they bake their own bread 👍 (always a sign of a quality restaurant)

points for improvement for management (i would upgrade from 5 stars to 6 stars!!!)
- for gallo pinto x rbm, would have been better with more beef considering the price
- add more options for dessert that aren't chocolate please! hopefully some lighter/more refreshing ones especially given how flavor-packed and hearty the mains are
- i would have actually enjoyed tougher pizza crust/dough (although before going, i was curious to try the puff pastry and it partly was a deciding factor). maybe add harder elements or make less nakakaumay

service - 5/5 stars

ambience - 4/5
great vibe but tables make it a little hard to sit (for regular man-sized people like my dad and even more for larger people, your legs have to squeeze between small spaces or totally go to the side)

i have been seeing half saints’ droolworthy food all over instagram for quite a while now and i told myself, “okay fine, i’ll visit na since it’s near where i live naman.” best decision ever. lol. the bf and i weren’t too hungry when we visited so we just tried two items on their menu —

chicharron teriyaki (295php)
man, but this one is life changing. 😳😱😍🤤😋 thinly sliced teriyaki-glazed bagnet that you can wrap on a nori sheet with whipped cream cheese. super sarap! one of the best starters i’ve had in a while.

ratatouille puff pizza (325php)
thinly-sliced eggplant, tomato and zucchini in a bed of marinara and pesto. carefully placed on a puff pastry instead of your traditional pizza dough. this one is flaky and delicious. kinda messy to eat but i don’t care because it’s addictingly good!

nutty mocha (150php)
but of course, caffeine junkie that i am, i just had to order coffee! this one is milky and not too sweet, and yes the promise of nuttiness is there at the end.

half saints is officially my new favorite restaurant in qc. must go back to try all the items on their menu. no kidding, i wanna try it all ‘cause i know it’ll be amazing! price point is bgc-level but i’m okay with it because the food is great. the staff were friendly and helpful with recos especially if it’s your first visit. i’ll be back, and to their 64% dark chocolate tart, wait for meeee! 😋😋😋

for me, the office lunch break is a sacred hour.  in this precious spot of time, i can take a break from the pencil-pushing, number-crunching and many of the stresses i take on in the course of my job.  when i have lunch with a coworkers, it also presents me with an opportunity to chat and get to know them, disocover shared interests or vent on common frustrations.

went here to have dinner with friends and this place did not disappoint. staff were so polite and approachable. menu is not what you expect, very experimental and different... in a good way! the bagnet and chicken dish we ordered were delicious. can't wait to come back here.

we were greeted by such a lovely chef. she took the time to explain the dishes to us. her food didn’t disappoint. the dishes were something new, different and flavorful. we specifically liked the arroz con pollo, chicharron teriyaki and their dessert chocolate tart. a bit pricey for the size of the food though.
