grind gastropub and kona tiki bar

i love this restaurant.... atmosphere, food, music, all of it is always superb. when i lived in florida it was a regular hang out for sunday brunch, their bloody mary bar is out of this world! now that i'm living out of state, it's always on our list to stop at while visiting. menu is not only of wide variety, but their drinks & beer tap selections are unparalleled. do yourself a favor... go check this place out!

ps.. order the steak tips or pork wings... you will not be disappointed.

i had the meatloaf and tuna "nacho" appetizer. absolutely amazing. would definitely eat again. i'm here from out of town and this is a spectacular gastropub.

a little far from me but worth the trip. the burger choices are limitless and the names they give them are super clever. love the hidden wine tasting room in the back and the outside vibe. service was a bit slow but maybe because there was only one person taking care of that area.

we had kelly as our server. rudest server i've ever had. she should be fired.

sunday brunch. go for the atmosphere, not the food. everything i had was served cold (omelet, potatoes, sausage, bacon and toast). my wife's egg looked and tasted like they were cooked in burned butter and her food was cold, too.

they advertise potato hash. i would expect a hash brown casserole, hash browns or something "hashed" but all i got was ice cold home fries. as the prices are on the high side, the food should be better and hot.

and my own pet peeve, give me all my change, and this is for many restaurants. our bill was $27.60. i gave the waitress $30.00 and got $2.00 change. i am far from cheap, but who the hell gives them the right to short change me. my solution, reduce the tip by $1.00. instead of a $6 tip, it was $5.

the back bar had a great atmosphere, but unfortunately it was packed. the friendly host informed me there was pretty of room inside and escorted me in. the bar was nice and there was a lady who personally greeted everyone. i think her name was maybe laura. she checked on me several times to be sure everything was good. there was live music. the menu is quirky in that all the items are given song titles. i can't remember the name, but there was a great cocktail with ginger beer, bourbon, and ginger beer. food was good and reasonably priced. i had the filet and it was very good. i will visit this place again.

this was one of my favorites. love the vibe and the food is awesome. however, today was a first in all my i dining, we left after 30 minutes without ever placing an order. if management ever figures out that they need to staff up servers for their periodic sunday brunch this place would have it all. i've recommended this place to all my friends and now i wish i hadn't. non existent service will always trump great food and atmosphere. btw, we went next door to la's bistro and had a wonderful brunch.

first time visiting this place and the atmosphere was awesome, however, the bartender was terrible. she was rude to our group of 3. never smiled, and made our experience uncomfortable. we wanted to stay inside because that's where the live music was, but really felt uncomfortable bc of the rude attitude from the girl behind the bar. we went outside and loved the atmosphere and ran into more friendly people.

great place with a eclectic menu!!. what a cool place with a great eclectic menu. i love the different things that were added to the different dishes. i had the grind burger that was really good with a cheese sauce that had some jalapeno kick added. good stuff, would recommend this place to anyone. we ate in the inside on this night but we will definitely will dine in the back kona tiki bar outdoor section the next time we go, as we walked through the back patio area to our car there was a lot more drinking and fun outside where every table was all smiles.

ended up making a pit stop on a sunday afternoon and wasn't in the mood for the usual exit fare. grind & tiki bar popped up. not too far from i-95 and totally worth the stop! the tiki atmosphere is fun, the music is a good even volume, and the food was fantastic! ordered the poke nachos, love bites (steak tips), crab cake sliders, and "kids" mac & cheese. everyone in our party loved their dishes from the picky teenager to the even pickier three year old. the mac was gourmet, steak was well seasoned, and the tuna poke was plentiful and had a nice little kick (almost reminded me of the tuna poke flavors from epcot food & wine).

there is a wide variety of options on the menu, clean restrooms, and super friendly staff (who was quick to manage a drink spill.) parking in the back is most convenient vs trying to enter off of the main street.

we would definitely come back and even might make the drive from orlando just to eat here.

who knew. never would have thought a place like this was in ormond. great tiki bar and not your typical bar food. this place is a must see if you are in the area, try the pizzas like we did, my son thought it was better than papa john's.

great times, great food. we booked the wine cellar for a birthday party last night. chef todd made pulled pork sliders, coconut shrimp, and crab cakes. everything was amazing and our bartender and server made sure no one was without food or drink all night. great night! i would highly recommend booking the cellar for your party. they will accommodate for anything you need. thanks, kevin and staff.

love this place!. i love the food and the atmosphere. one of my favorite spots in ormond beach.
