i had a chance to pop into granby street pizza. should have just gone to cogan's. let's just say the service is a bit inattentive. thepizzawas ok. the crust is your normal hand tossed variety and the sauce i am pretty sure is a doctored up can of marinara. toppings were basic. i had a pepperoni and mushroom. the food isn't bad. it's just the usual. with so many otherpizzashops around, especially in hampton roads, you need to stand out. so, all in all, just ok.

pizza was delicious, always was.  i say "was" because i'll never go back.  today i ordered a 14" pizza, 1/2 meat lovers, the other 1/2 with just 3 toppings.  the meat lovers comes with 5 toppings at $20.90, here's where it gets interesting.  if you order a 14" cheesepizzaat $10.50 and add the 5 toppings on the meat lover at $1.25 each, you'd only pay $16.75.  so let me get this straight, for saving you the trouble of listing the 5 toppings you want on your cheese pizza, the put a fancy name on it "meat lovers" and charge you $4.15 for that privilege?  whatever

so, i order 1/2 meat lovers, and 3 toppings on the other 1/2, so we're getting an average of 4 toppings...  but when i get the bill i'm charged full price for the meat lover, and full price for the 3 additional toppings...  never mind it was only 1/2 a meat lover, or the "additional" toppings were only on 1/2 the pizza, i was charged for 8 full toppings...  and don't forget the $4.15 fee for using the phrase "meat lovers"  so, instead of getting apizzathat should have cost $15.50, i was charged $24.65.

and the best part was when i called it to their attention that i was overcharged, the waitress, who was very nice, no complaint with her, only that she works at a terrible place, went and talked to who i assume was a manager, and was told and relayed to me, that's just what they do...  i was completely taken aback by this, it was both insulting and infuriating.  i didn't think it was worth arguing, so i paid the ridiculous price of $24.65 for a 14" pizza, tipped my waitress well, and left.

i would recommend to anyone reading this check out cogan's north, theirpizzais awesome, beer list is extensive, atmosphere is great, they have a covered, open air deck upstairs, and they don't rip you off or treat you like an idiot.

dine in or get it delivered!. while i've reviewed granby streetpizzabefore i'm going to focus this review on their delivery services.

i work about 6-8 blocks from them in downtown norfolk and have to say that they are spot on with their delivery's during the lunch hours. over the last couple of months we have ordered from them at least once a week and every time they have been consistently 10 minutes earlier than the quoted delivery time. the food is always oven fresh and piping hot. not only does it smell great, it looks great to. i like a restaurant that takes pride in the way their product is presented. also or all you 'green folks' their delivery cart is also fully electric.. so no carbon emissions.

all in all it's always a pleasure to have lunch from them. no complaints here. great food, great service and attention to detail.

always good... always!. another great meal at granby street pizza. we popped in for lunch the other day and had an assortment of goodies. i had 2 slices of the italian flag bianca while my co-worker had a slice with jalapeño, ham & pineapple and a side of fried mushrooms.

our server was fast and friendly and the food was on the table about 5-6 minutes after ordering. out drinks stayed full as well and she even brought us full carry out drinks for the walk back to work. top notch!

great unique pizza!. how is it that i haven't visited granby streetpizzabefore now? this was a really really goodpizzaand i implore anyone who likespizzato put this place on your short list.

i arrived around 1:30pm and there was still a fairly large lunch crowd inside. the outdoor seating area, empty today except for one lone smoker, is on your right as you walk in the front door. the first room you enter has the kitchen and some sparse seating. it's painted a dark yellow color and there is a nice wood paneling through out. pizza's are on display under a glass barrier. the main dining area is in the next room, its painted dark green and has the same wood work. there's a sign that says "seat yourself". which i was happy to do. :)

my server arrived quickly and i placed my order. 25 minutes went by and i still didn't have my slices. i was starting to think about a nasty urbanspoon review when she came back and apologized profusely for the wait. she was taking care of a party in the back and they were running her ragged. apology accepted. let's get on to the pizza.

i have to say i wasn't expecting much here figuring it was just another place with nyc style slices. i was wrong... so wrong... what was placed before me waspizzaperfection. large slices, very thin and very crispy. the bottom was dark brown and they didn't droop when you lifted them to your mouth. the taste? wow! the bread was so fresh and the sauce was fantastic. cheese blend was good as well. i had pepperoni and mushrooms for the toppings and the mushrooms were freshly cut.

on my next visit i'm definitely bringing a friend and think i'm going to sample one of the specialty pizzas on the menu. the one called the italian flag (tomato, spinach, ricotta, romano, mozzarella, & garlic) looks very interesting.

granby streetpizzais also not only apizzaparlor; it's a full service restaurant. they have stromboli, calzones, lasagna, chicken & eggplant parmesan, subs, gyros and more. i saw a desert menu to but didn't look at it. there's also a full service bar in the back of the main the dining room.

i'll be back soon. with reinforcements!

bestpizzain norfolk!. thankfully, my family and i recently discovered granby street pizza. for our first visit, we decided to go right for the good stuff and try the garlic knots (to die for) and a pepperonipizza(absolutely fantastic).

my daughter had the cheese ravioli, which was obviously homemade and a big hit with her. it came with house salad and a foccaccia bread basket, which she also enjoyed.

the service was great - friendly waitress and quick delivery of food.

we cannot believe we have lived here for 3 years now and just tried this place. we have to make it up for it now, and plan on going back at least once a month.
