govind was recommended to us by our hosts when we told them that our group was looking out for a decent vegetarianplaceto dine in at nashik.
we reached theplacearound 8.30 pm and found our table quite easily without any prior reservation even though it was a weekend (also considering that we were a group of 17-18). however post 9pm, the crowd started to come in. the hungry bunch that we were, started off to order food based on whatever was recommended to us. for starters we called for the huge rumali khakra which we saw that many people around had called for. it was nice and crispy, coated with a spicy peanut chutney on the inside. next was the paneer tikka which wasn't too bad either. all this served with a spicy indian chinese like chutney and a green chutney.
for main course, our large group called for various naans and rotis which we had with the 2 vegetables recommended by them. the mixed vegetable (aptly named as veg mahefil) was a medley of colourful veggies..as many as one could think of - beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, okra, mushrooms...infact, i may be missing out on some more .. the quantity was huge too! the paneer rajwadi was nice and so was the dal, rice and dal khichdi.. a few of us ordered buttermilk which came heavily garnished with coriander, green chillies and other masalas.
full marks to the helpful and prompt service too. i must honestly say that i hadn't expected such offerings in this small part of nasik. very impressed! would rate it as 3.75 /5.
