fabulous! well worth a visit!. i was expecting a fantastic meal as i've had dinner at the london nyc (which is amazing). i wasn't disappointed here!

we had a large group of 8 people and ordered the 7 courses which were extremely tasty and very well presented. thefoodis beautiful, the cocktails are yummy and the service was impeccable from the waiters who were very attentive to our group and explained everything on the menu thoroughly - although the hostess out the front didn't seem to understand a word i was saying, perhaps it's my english accent?!

definitely worth a visit as it doesn't disappoint. i cannot recommend this restaurant enough. note though that if you've been to the nyc restaurant, the la one is a bit more "relaxed" for fine dining but it was still great!

we stayed at the hotel and had breakfast there every morning and again, thefoodwas beautiful. best continental breakfast we've had in america!

gordon ramsay would not approve!. and this is the truth. the food, i need to add first, was amazing. well, at least most of it was. and i am a huge fan of gordon ramsay - but if this was one of his shows and he had cameras all over the place - the night would have ended with him screaming in each crew member's face.

the beef wellington (the 20 dollar addition to the three course tasting menu) was amazing. the best i've ever had. so good, that it almost made me forget the terrible service that we were given from the moment we showed up - and the waiter even had a sly smile on his face as he brought it out to us - as if this amazing dish would erase in our minds all of the lax, nonchalant, b-rate service he and his crew had provided us from the moment we arrived.

this place has a michelin star and it should not have one. i'll repeat that - this restaurant does not deserve a michelin rating. part of what you pay for when going to a restaurant is the ambiance, not just the food. and when you're paying top-dollar at a michelin-rated restaurant, you expect not only great food, but a great experience.

we were a party of eight for a friends twenty-fourth birthday and we were seated in a private room near the front entrance. after seeing gordon ramsay on so many great shows and reading so much about the man, i was excited, like a child going to an amusement park, to see what a "gordon ramsay" restaurant is all about. well, i hope the london in new york city is better, because from the moment we walked in the decor was cheesy-looking, glitzy and dated. even the music playing in the background was bizarre - "ice ice baby" by vanilla ice. are you kidding?

and then there was the massive, round, wooden table we were seated at, chipped on the corners, no table cloth and hardly cleaned throughout our meal (i'm sorry people, we dropped a thousand dollars at this place - i'm going to be picky.) the complimentary bread was cold and flavorless - not to mention served almost 30 minutes after we were seated!

our waiter looked like he had just woken from a three-day bender in weho, and i wish i remembered his name because i'd share it with all of you right now. he had a slight attitude with us, and only one assistant helping him serve an eight person table. the drinks took forever to come, and then placing ourfoodorder seemed like it would never happen, and when it finally did, thefoodtook even longer to come out.

thefoodwas brought out in increments, some people got served while others sat, waited and watched their friends eat. and when they were done eating, they had to sit and watch as the others ate their food. our desert took the longest to come out - and boy-oh-boy was it small - or maybe it just seemed that way because we had waited so long.

and when the waiter came table-side with a candle behind his palm as we prepared to sing happy birthday to our friend, lo and behold the candle was placed in a teaspoon sized, and i mean "teaspoon", scoop of sorbet, on a massive plate with nothing else on it. you'd think they could have at least cut him a decent slice of cake or something, given the caliber of restaurant and money we were spending.

important: our waiter tried to screw us on money at two different points. first, when we were ordering, he tried to get myself and a friend to order the beef wellington separate from the three course tasting menu in which case it would have cost 89 dollars by itself, and no where on the menu was this price listed (we only knew ahead of time from reading it on line).

second, the gratuity is included in the final price on the receipt, but there is a line on the receipt that says "gratuity not included". i'm not kidding. while we were trying to figure out what the extra 150 dollar charge to our tab was - someone from our party finally tapped the waiter on the shoulder and asked him. he shared with us that the gratuity is included, he just forgot to cross that line out.

strange - had we not been more observant we would have tipped an additional 20% on top of that 150 dollars and our waiter would have walked away with more than 300 dollars for b-rate service.

i tried to enjoy this experience, i really did. thefoodwas amazing - and if nothing else, go there for that.

the beef wellington, the beef tartar, and the bluefin tuna carpaccio were all amazing - both visually and in taste. the wine was great. the english sticky toffee pudding was great (but small).....

but if gordon ramsay was sitting there with us he would have been disgusted. no one should ever have to wait that long to get served their food. the service, ambiance and overall experience just wasn't there.

sometimes greatfoodis worth the wait... but not when it costs over a hundred dollars a person.

stay away from gordon ramsay at the london hollywood. we ate at the restaurant on 3/31/13. we had a terrible experience, the waiter never disclosed the total cost of the addition of the beef wellington ($45 on top of the $20 on the menu), the waiter did not tell us that the bread was $6 per basket when we were waiting for over an hour for our entree's and the waiter never refilled my sons $6 12 ounce ice tea until well over an hour later when my son asked him directly out of thirst and frustration. i contacted and spoke to both dan and matt whom i was told were the managers and at one point i was told that there supervisor tony would be contacting me which never happened. then i called and spoke to either dan or matt a day or so later and i was told it was in accounting's hands and up to them as to what could or would be done. i never heard back from accounting so this morning (4-8-13) i called and asked to speak with accounting and was told they were unaware of the event and nothing was related to them. so she said someone would be contacting me later today about the situation and she would let me know what can be done then. i was so disappointed with this experience i took the time to open a yelp account to place a review about the poor service and how bad this experience has been. then today i opened this google+ account during my break as well. i was a huge gordon ramsay fan and i have to say i am no longer a fan and this has been the single worst restaurant experience in my life thus far. i am trying to find a way to email gordon himself so he is aware of what is being done to his reputation here. i would recommend staying away from here. we went to eat at a place called angelos in anaheim, the hat, and pinks hot dogs, my family even like ihop better then what we ate here. thefoodhere was bland and lacked seasoning, the presentation was good and the restaurants was very nicely decorated but we came to have what we thought would possibly be the best meal of our lives and to be completely honest the best part of the meal was the bread..... huge let down, lost a big fan. never again

dinela's restaurant week really lets people try many different kind of food. after looking and what they had to offer. i was caught between so many choices. after a few reservations being booked, i was left with gordon ramsey at the london. i am not saying this was a second best or last resort. i love watching gordon ramsey lash out to the contestants of hell's kitchen and restaurant owners in kitchen nightmares. for someone so intent on having perfection, i had to try hisfoodand his restaurant to see if he practices what he preaches. and the fact that this restaurant has a michelin star didn't hurt. we all started with bread and butter, which was great. the butter was a perfect temperature and almost cheese like. the bread was soft on the inside and chewy on the out side, just how i like it. as you know, dine la restaurants offer 3 courses for a set price. here is what we had. the charred octopus salad was tasty, but was missing something. i liked the charred flavor of octopus, but

bad over-priced food. we went here for lunch during our vacation to hollywood. we were hoping the ridiculous $8 parking fee would be worth it since it's gordon ramsay but we were sorrily mistaken.

my friend ordered a burger. the patty was flavorless, the bottom bun was soggy, the cheese had melted off the burger onto the plate, and the chunk of iceburg lettuce on it was bigger than the actual patty. the salad it came with was nothing more than the greens you buy from the bag at the supermarket with a greenish cherry tomato cut in half.

i ordered the prime beef on risotto. the beef was this little tiny square chunk of meat that tasted like it had been prepared the day before. the risotto itself was ok.

i also ordered a coffee which turned out to be $6. for that money i expect an espresso but this was just drip coffee.

this was perhaps some of the worstfoodwe had during our entire trip. very disappointed.

really dont like it!!!. i took my boyfriend here for his birthday because he really wanted some of chef ramsay's signature dishes... but it was by far the most uncomfortable overpriced excuse for a restaurant i have ever been to. 3 people have to serve you yourfoodand stand there and watch you eat it... wow is all i have to say... we had the chef sampler and lets just say the only thing that is even worth trying was the tomatoes with mozzarella. the mean cost us well over $200 and we left to go to grab some realfoodafter.

chef!!!! serve the stuff you are known for like beef wellington not this crap!!!

disappointing in so many ways!. i really really wanted to like this place, but just couldn't.foodwas "okay" but i expected something for $200 (without wine). service was great, but each dish was nothing to write home about. i'll go back and give it another shot, but so far first impressions are not favorable.

also stayed at the hotel for a local stay, same thing, only okay but expected much more for the price. the tub while large, would not hold water! and the management was horrible. i can name 20 other places worth staying at in the area where you can have a better stay. while we will try the resturant again, we will never go back to the hotel.

tastes good but you leave hungry. i was excited when this place came on the scene about a year ago, and tried it a few times but its very disappointing. thefoodis pretentious and sometimes tasty but you always leave hungry as the portions are soooooooo small. service is also rather cold. tried breakfasts, and tried lunches, never tried dinners. i still go there because they are so close to our office but hoping that this will get better. i hear (may or may not be right) that gordon ramsey is no longer associated with the place except for by name, so we'll see what happens.

dead and overpriced!. 4 of us were excited to try gordon's new restaurant and we were very disappointed . we went on a friday night about 8pm and maybe half the restaurant was full. the martinis are an average of $16 which is high even for la. the service is very strange. urbanspoon says the restaurant is $$$, it's not, its more like $$$$+. dinner for 4 came to almost $500. thefoodwe had was pretty good, but the menu is very small and very pretentious even for la...slow braised octopus, beef cheek, pork belly... also, there are no entrees on the menu, everything is a tasting portions between $18 - $150 per portion. if you go there starving plan to drop some serious cash.
