always wonderful food and service. nice ambience and location too. try the salmon and shrimp fettuccine. one of my favorite places and one of the best italian places around. magnolia grill a few doors down is also wonderful. i eat out more than just about anybody and i've lived in the area for almost 20 years. not to many places i haven't been to, so rest assure you are reading a good review. have fun! everything is good there and way cheaper than destin without all of the tourists too.

not sure why there are any negative reviews... especially the comment about the olive garden. anyway, the service was great! atmosphere was just right and the food was delicious at a good value. we will be back next time we come to fwb.

what a great place to go and pull up dockside! we have had some of the best service from the gals working the tiki bar out back, and the most delicious baked oysters done in ways that are different and absolutely worth the try. we had the mediterranean style baked oysters with olives and feta, as well as some topped with coconut with a berry compote.  the mind behind these oysters is fantastic, and her enthusiasm about what she has prepared and the different flavors is infectious. kudos!

what a fabulous hidden gem! we were here for the first time last night and it was amazing! i'm originally from fwb, but we live in texas now. we came home to visit and decided to try this place. our waitress danielle did a fantastic job-ask for her when you go! we ordered the mussel appetizer...so flavorful! we dipped our bread in the juice and oh my word! bomb diggity! 😜 my husband ordered the mushroom/prosciutto pizza and i had the mixed seafood pasta...everything was spot on! put this on your "must eat" spot when you visit!

ambience, cuisine, great people. i love the small town feel of fort walton beach, but can't get enough of 30a's cuisine and ambience. at caffe italia one89 i get the best of both worlds. i can bring my entire family for an amazing time (although i leave the kids at home because the bar comes alive after 10). romance, live music, and a fantastic view. the waitstaff have always been friendly and you can really customize any plate without annoying the kitchen (i know because i am married to one of those people)

great food! great people!. caffe italia provided lunch for my office and it was great! everyone loved the food and the workers who came out to set everything up were very professional. the chicken marsala is to die for!

coming to cafe one89, is a refreshing opportunity to eat excellent local seafood cuisine, relax in a perfectly delightful restaurant with relaxing and even energizing atmosphere. the manager and waitstaff were very helpful and professional. hands up with thumbs up!!! excellent restaraunt!!

what a great evening!. first visit since the remodel/new owners. couldn't be more pleased. the food was superb, the service was excellent (lindsey was a fabulous server!), the drinks fit the bill, and the entertainment was fantastic. all in all one of the best nights out i've had in a very, very long time. the menu was packed with dishes i wanted to try, so i selected the fettucine carbonara and loved every bite. the spinach/artichoke dip was a lovely appetizer for a chilly evening (and it's not something i'd typically care for). the drink menu was so appealing, i wanted to work my way through it (everything i did try, was yummy!). we spent over 3 hrs there having a very leisurely evening.we were enjoying it so much, we didn't want it to end. i will definitely be back!

there's a reason they've been in business for a while.... because they're doing it right. good food, good service, yummy cocktails. another wonderful place to eat in downtown fwb. two thumbs-up!

cafe italia 189 house stromboli pizza. italian is one of my favorite cuisines and this blew us away! very reasonably priced and well worth it. we ordered to go, but the ambience was amazing and i wish we would have eaten in. the staff i came in contact with were very friendly. 5 stars all around. took the pic after we dug in!!

but the manager was pretty unprofessional when reprimanding the employees in front of customers.

we were there on july 4th with a party of 18. we arrived around 530 and were almost only ones there. we waited forever for our food. they made the sweet tea with salt instead of sugar and had to send back twice. after about 2 hours of being there we requested our 4 checks and helped waitress review what was on each check. well after about an hour she came out with checks all messed up and manager was not willing to help! we just paid them as is to avoid being there any longer! 3 hours was way too long!

we visited the restaurant and enjoyed it so much that we returned the next night! our party of four enjoyed the calamari - cooked very light and tasty. the lobster ravioli was rich without being over the top. the pasta dishes were perfect, with meat sauce that impressed. the highlight of dinner was the stromboli made exactly to our specifications. our server, shelby, was attentive, friendly and knowledgable. she helped us reserve a table for july 4 where we sat in the back and enjoyed a gorgeous view of the fireworks display. this was a highlight of our trip and we will come back on our next visit. (the live music was excellent, too!)

fantastic!. my new favorite place to eat. the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. the bar area is absolutely beautiful, outside deck is covered and has a great view of their large back yard, tiki bar, and sound. they really have put a lot of work into creating a fantastic environment for dining and having drinks.

the food is delicious! the calamari fritti is freshly battered and great tasting, including some slices of perfectly cooked zucchini. the calamari itself was cooked just right, not chewy.

i got the shrimp & salmon fettuccini and loved it. everything was cooked just as i would hope for and the salmon tasted wonderful. my friend got the manicotti and ate every bite. we ended dinner by sharing tiramisu and it too was very good, although i like a bit more of a rum flavor.

i would highly recommend cafe italia!

wait for food was extremely long, i went and there was only one other customer and i was there a total of 3 hours, most of the time spent waiting. the waitress kept running by and stomped her feet when she walked so the floor was rattling shaking the table. olive garden is a better choice. i ordered the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and it was almost $20, i had to go to mcdonalds after because i was still hungry. the waitress asked me if i wanted cheese, i said yes. she returned 45 minutes later with the cheese after i was done eating. overpriced, and i'm disappointed. i can honestly say i won't be returning nor do i want to ever.

pleasantly surprised. decided to give cafe italia one89 another shot after having a pretty mediocre valentine's day dinner there this year. was excited to check out the new beach bar with my girlfriend and we were both pleasantly surprised. although new and still working out the kinks, the live music was great as was the service from the bartenders and the wait staff. there was a little mishap with the pizza we ordered, and the chef was courteous enough to make us a new one to go for the problem, even though we were more than pleased with the pizza we got, albeit a few slices were missing due to them sliding off the pan after being pulled from the oven. the response to the issue was prompt and polite and it really demonstrated a great sense of pride the chefs and staff have in regards to how customers are treated. thanks maria for the great bloody marys!
