yummy!. i was in there on sunday 5/5 and while they were packed and the waitresses were running around they were still super friendly and didn't let the stress of being busy get to them! i sat at this cute little pink table and we had the cutest waitress who was honest and genuine and had a fantastic personality and answered all questions we had. she recommended the sweet cream blueberry pancakes and she didn't steer me wrong and i also got a side of bacon and 2 eggs that were cooked exactly they way i wanted them! my husband got the corned-beef hash and absolutely loved it! the decor was super homey and reminded of my grandmas house. we will coming sooner rather than later!

i love places like ginger's. they're local. they're cozy. they're kitschy and they're putting out some pretty good food. though there were a few problems here or there i definitely plan on going back and you should go try it out too

charming place with a down home feel. great food and prices. we were there first time today--mother's day. it was busy but we still got right in and served fast. food was great--omelette for me. husband had corned beef hash and grits. all were 5 stars . the peanut butter pie was awesome. do not pass it up! the place is like your grandmas. mishmash of plates silverware and yes tables and chairs. this gives it charm imo. i'm not sure why the other reviewer would go two times if the place was so repulsive first time. we will def be back. there are no pretenses there and the food, service and prices were all excellent.

been going for years. staff is friendly, food is good. only been a few times for breakfast but enjoyed what i got. most of time go for lunch and feel that amount of food you get is sufficient. great home style cooking. new place is a lot bigger than the old one and not as homey yet as they are slowly getting their decorations up. only thing i miss is the chalkboard with the specials, pies and soups listed

food is overpriced, heard one of the waitresses talking negatively about customers, you can hear the staff in the kitchen cussing, if you have a party of more than 4, your food will not come out at the same time, some will get cold food and some will get hot and a majority of the food is a mix and not made from scratch! why on earth would you pay $ 4.29 for a side of bacon that was cooked way earlier in the day? no thanks, there are way better places in the surrounding area that are much cheaper and the food is actually made to order!

like, but not love. great food, friendly service, and fun decor. but a bit pricey and the coffee is pretty bad.

not worth the price!. ate there today for breakfast. hadn't tried it for a couple years. my husband tried the early bird - one egg, biscuit and smoked sausage (1/2 of a 1-inch piece). they should have been ashamed to serve anything that small! it looked like a doggy treat!
the price: $5.95, plus coffee. for almost $8.00 i had 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces bacon, and toast when i had already eaten half the eggs. the toast was very good. it will be several years before we go back!

uses old junk tables and chairs. the original partners of this restaurant could not make a go of it and it was bought out by one of the waitresses. she kept the old garbage rustic 'yard sale' rickety tables and chairs. just a greasy spoon, don't get your hopes up.

i have twice exited this restaurant without being served. the last time there were only three tables of customers in the restaurant. i waited 25 minutes without getting a drink and decided it was time to go.

hopefully the reluctant waitress turned restaurant owner will have mercy on our little town and sell out to someone who really knows what they are doing.

you call that meatloaf? i'm not sure what you served me, but that was gross. don't ground the meat so finely to where it tastes like sand. yuck.

b's & g's. my wife and i made it into ginger's yesterday for the first time for breakfast. the outside looked like a bland strip mall, but the inside was surprisingly cheerful and inviting. i've been in a biscuits and gravy mood lately, so i decided to go with the bs & gs, which comes with hash browns. the hash brown were ok although a bit under-seasoned and missing the crispness that is the hallmark of really expertly-made hash brown.

the biscuits and gravy were better. the gravy was smooth and creamy with plenty of hunks of sausage cooked in. it was also seasoned nicely and was thick enough that a good amount would cling to the biscuits. i think a more flavorful sausage could have made the gravy even better, but overall a good version.

biscuits and gravy: 3
hash browns: 2
service: 2.5
atmosphere: 3
****************
explanation of rating scale:
1: does not meet expectations
2: meets expectations
3: exceeds expectations
4: far exceeds expectations
so, on this scale, a 2 is a respectable score. 4s will be very rare. (and hopefully so will 1s).

love this place. my friend, jody, and i love to meet for breakfast and this is where we meet 9 our of 10 times....at least! she likes their breakfast sandwich and i like their corned beef hash with two eggs and toast. took the waitresses suggestion and had it with the rye toast. she was right...it was great, although we like their nutty wheat bread too! the food is fresh and simple, service is fast and friendly, and sometimes ginger is walking around talking to people as she takes their orders and serves them. the french coconut pie is so creamy and good! if i don't have room for it, i take a piece home for later. it's relaxing and it's fun because jody and i spot toys and decorating objects from our childhoods. my mom and dad's old dinette table is even there! love the odds n' ends plates and utensils. it's our breakfast place of choice.
