jenn, friends and family. we were visiting from georgia. we had dinner sunday at 5pm and it was wonderful. we started out with some drinks; lemon drop, washington state martini, and a pomegranate martini. yum. the main courses were varied, from plum potk, shrimp pasta, new orleans shrimp, and pan seared trout. everything was very good and our waiter was very good too. a good time for all!

awesome. fantastic food. professional friendly prompt service. easy parking and no wait on sunday for brunch.
the donuts and strawberry butter they bring to the table are ridiculously good. he had the omelet of the day and i had the strata of the day. homefries are crispy and the grits are to die for.
can't wait to visit nashville again for another germantown cafe brunch.

we enjoyed an excellent evening at germantown cafe for new year's eve.  the view of downtown is beautiful and we could even see some of the fireworks.

we enjoyed crab cakes, french onion soup and salads before our entrees.  the plum pork was tender and juicy and the sauce was sublime.  the brown sugar and cumin crusted sirloin melted in your mouth.  and the creme brulee and chocolate mousse were divine.

our server was amazing.  he was attentive and engaging without being intrusive.

all in all, an excellent night out.

very nice restaurant, pleasant surroundings and excellent service. i had the plum pork and my bride the salmon with curry sauce. both sauces complimented the dishes very well. key lime pie for desert was good. will be back.

great place to grab lunch during the week. fast service. good food. can also see some of nashville's movers and shakers sometimes. gets very busy. sometimes a long wait.

ignored. i visited this restaurant last night. when i arrived i want sure where to check in, so i walked past the bar and waited next to the entrance to the dining room. there were a lot of open tables although the bar was fairly busy. i stood there and waited for a long time but everyone that was working there ignored me. so i made my way to an empty seat at the bar. once again i waited a very long time for the bar tender to even acknowledge me. when he did, he actually returned to ask me the time how i wanted my cocktail prepared. and during that time, he served at least three new arrivals. so i left and went across the street to silo where i experienced outstanding service, and a great meal.

we wanted to have brunch there this morning. when i mentioned we needed a high chair, the host said that the only two they had were already in use. i was surprised and asked if they seriously only had two high chairs. the snobbish answer was "well, yes we are not a kids restaurant".... well i guess we will spend our not-welcomed family money somewhere else. urbanspoon, there should be a "non-kid friendly" category on here.

soooo good. given the very classy atmosphere of the place i was also pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. service was pretty good.

good fine dining. i had a good experience at germantown cafe. it's an upscale restaurant featuring an array of choices. our table had a curry salmon, vegetable plate, and a fish special. all were excellent. the salad and fried green tomato appetizer was also good.

the only thing i didn't like was the bread. it was fried bread (like what you see at captain ds). i'd prefer some other choice. other than the bread, it was outstanding. highly recommended!

great!. visited from knoxville many times and this is a must! french onion soup is out of this world! wish there was something this great in my region. have had several entrees and all have been good!

uninspired and over priced food. all 3 entrees (trout, ny strip and blackened tilapia special) we ordered were just kind of hum-drum. the staff was friendly, just didn't love the food. for my money in this price range, i'll take the yellow porch or firefly all day long over this place.

my wife and i tried this little spot labor day weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the brunch. it was phenomenal! it was the best breakfast we could remember having in a long while. we both had the steak benedict. the cranberry toast and side of potatoes were also great. our meal came with some warm honey rolls that were delicious. the food, atmosphere, and service were amazing. we will visit again if we're in the area.

doesn't get better than this.. i have eaten there 3-4 times and have never been disappointed in any way. the rolls are melt in your mouth, the creme brulee is over the top, apple pie is even special there. their specially seasoned steak though is impossible to resist. i can't pass it up if i am anywhere near it.

4/4/13 wonderful lunch prior to pink martini concert. finally made it to germantown cafe and delighted we did. upon stepping in the door, knew immediately all would go well. bartender greeted, hostess greeted, and waitress was pleasant and efficient. i usually never order steak salads, as they usually come with whatever steak cuts that are available and are poorly grilled and flavorless. the menu description here (charcrusted beef tenderloin) convinced me to make an exception. wow, did they deliver on their description. arrived with steak hot off grill and with perfect char-grilled crust and perfectly medium rare on inside. extraordinarily flavorful. greens fresh and crisp too. my wife tried the coconut curry salmon and still is talking about it. nice atmosphere, great staff and a perfect lunch. can't wait to get back for their dinner service.
