the chicken wings were so delicious and unforgettable! the dining environment was really good but it would be better if the restaurant be lighter.

simply amazing food here. everything was on point. service was great. lovely atmosphere. great place to catch up with friends or a romantic night out.

the food and service was exceptional, the mark of a great chef is how they treat their vegetables. and the vegetable dishes here give the protein a run for the money if not steal the show, only downside is the tables are a little too close together. intimate dinners are not the same when having to whisper conversation across the table so not to intrude on the fellow diners on tables either side. that being said one of the few hatted restaurants where you will leave full to the brim - no exaggerations here. the mains were more than enough to share, so much so that we had no room for desert, highly recommended and will be back for another visit.

we went to gerard's without knowing what to expect and were nicely surprised. great service, and the food was amazing. we were in the area for just one night and we definitely picked the right place to go! i'm vegetarian and all of the options were fantastic. highly recommended.

this place is amazing. i come back again and again and the service, food and drinks are consistently impressive. the staff have a great knowledge of the food and i have learnt to always ask their recommendation because they always know what the best items on the menu are. they also make an amazing french martini and don’t skimp on the chambord like many places.

i had breakfast here, the service was great, and food fantastic. i didnt realise middle eastern flavours went with breakfast until i went here.

i had the pumpkin and eggplant with rice. it sounds quite ordinary, but the dishes were filled with flavour and were like nothing i had tried before. the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. i would definitely eat here again

gerard's bistro is a critic favourite, located among james street's stylish restaurant and retail offerings. diners' taste buds are taken on a journey across the middle east with head chef, ben williamson's levantine inspired share plates. the drinks menu is an original international list, crafted to complement the bistro's flavourful food offering.

food is amazing and french wine is lovely! i love the prefect balance of sour and sweet. you have to order the bread, it is basically the best bread i have ever had but the room light is too dark.

one of the best meals i have had in brisbane. the restaurant is beautiful, the service first class and the food absolutely divine. i loved all the food we had, especially the fried cauliflower (pictured) which i am going to try and create at home. i wish we had a gerard’s bistro in sydney. #gerardsbistro

5 out of 5 for food, had beetroot, salted zucchini, broccolini and best of all, fruit and nut polo. waiters were very attentive refilling water. only downside was it was quite noisy, hard to hear what my partner was saying. we sat near door. maybe it was quieter outside.

had lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised .
the ambiance is ok down a side lane in james st and the service was first rate
the entree was delish i had the cured tuna, lamb tartare and the spicy chicken wings all of which were an absolute delight
for mains we had the coal roasted octopus , the suckling pig , the fried cauliflower, and slow cooked brisket. all of the mains exceeded expectations however i would say in value for money the pig was overpriced and the brisket although more expensive easily served 4 men
the hammer will return and enjoyed the experience

amazing food and service. i've tried several fine dining over the passed few years in brisbane since moved from melbourne and had some disappointing moments but absolutely loved everything about gerard's.

sensational! every dish was extraordinary. this is, by far, the most creative and delicious take on middle eastern food that i’ve ever experienced. service was impeccable, and the decor is eye-catching too

i dined here on a monday night solo. it was quite busy but there were plenty of staff working. i was offered the option to sit anywhere and opted to sit at the bar. i had a gin cocktail which was refreshing and a great way to start the meal. for entrees, i tried a few of the singular pieces on offer which included a burghul cracker with coal infused hummus, a fresh oyster in a creamy style sauce and a buttered prawn. all were jampacked with flavour and could be eaten in 1-2 bites. for main, i had the confit cuttlefish with hazelnut puree, enoki mushrooms and bone sauce. the cuttlefish was sliced very thin and had a similar texture to pasta. i felt that the integrity of the seafood was well maintained in this dish and the flavours complemented each other. for the dessert, i opted for the "apple, oats and whey" which was a refreshing twist at the end of the meal and not sickly sweet. in addition, just wanted to call out the lovely lady who looked after me the entire evening. i believe she may have been a manager. she spent the time to explain all the dishes i asked about and provided honest recommendations. hope to visit again before i leave bne.
