third time around, service excellent, food amazing, ambiance cosy. will recommend again to anyone who likes original and well thought combinations of flavours and traditional oriental/australian classics. not a place to have last minute coffee, but a place to have full dining experience, with friends and family.

went for a cheeky last minute lunch without child. great looking place with a soft feel thanks to the timber. had the gnocchi which was different with pomme granite and goats curd. enjoyed!! also had quail with barberry rice. quail could of been flavoured up a bit more, the rice was tasty. finished on a tasty deep fried dessert with shhps yoghurt and cumquats. wine list is pretty good, too many kiwi wines by the glass though. our waiter was great, attentive and friendly. looking forward to dinner with say 4-6 friends. lots if sharing to be had with some great flavours.

excellent food! as true to its suggested roots as it could be. packed full of flavour and taste and the decor was excellent. wine list not as good as some but sufficient for the dishes. spinach garnish on the wagyu full of garlic and lush!

no welcome at gerard's. gerards appeared to be the perfect place one saturday evening for our coffee and dessert but unfortunately the appealing aesthetic did not translate to a welcoming reception for 3 mature women. after we requested a table from the many available the waiter preferred we remain in the doorway and read the menu to ensure there was something we wanted to order before we sat down. does gerard’s feel their menu would be so unpalatable or are they discriminating against people over 45, women in particular?

faultless. moroccan with a bit of australian with a nordic decor but it all works. martini's by matt behind the bar perfect! between two we shared 3 of the 'starters' the octopus, scallops and quail and then a main of flathead & side share to finish off. presented beautifully, flavour combinations were impressive. no others words except for you've got to go.
