it's open at all hours and it's speciallygoodafter a long night out 😂

the people there know me well and remember even after i had moved out without visiting the place for 5 years.

oppaaaaaa! we have a winner... this should be on the top of your priority list in long beach. location is great, we sat outdoors underneath the stars (& a nice comfy heater),goodplace by the roadside for quiet people watching. was quite romantic which i hadn't expected, what you'd imagine an outdoor dinner in greece would be like.

service with a smile, warm and hospitable, our booked table was promptly prepared..they made the effort. i liked how they constantly passed by refilling water & (plain) ice teas, very attentive.

for starters we sampled the kalimata olive paste, and potato mash thing, t'was a close call but the olive paste won. clever strategy with the sampling mr. george i must say.

we shared a "make your own" dinner with their prized lamb chops, meat skewers, and chicken skewers, they all came in pairs. the upgraded feta fries were agoodtouch, and small greek salad made us feel healthier. everything we had was excellent, especially the red meats.

too bad we didn't have room for dessert..

disappointing. very mediocre fare. inside noise level at deafening heights, waiter had to scream specials and guest's response had to be screamed back, to be heard over loud mouth cackling female patron and overall room noise. place looksgoodfrom the outside, but with $14 appetizer sampler and $26 entrees one would expect more than a plastic tablecloth and pressed steel utensils (which you are apparently expected to use over for every course). the sampler appetizer left a lot to be desired. calamari was salty, the spanakopita from costco is ten times better than what arrived on the platter, and the dolmatia was ok.
entrees were slapped down on the table by server who tried to run away without removing earlier service, and no attempt to see if anything else was required. when halted to clear the table and asked for fresh utensils, water, and a glass of wine, server attitude was clearly obvious. plates were grabbed from the table, piled on top of one another, and when a pressed steel knife fell off the plates into the middle of the table from where the plates were being retrieved, nary a peep from ms. attitude. plating was disgusting (think dog bowl of food for a great dane). six "lollypop" lamb chops sat on top of some soggy peta bread which had succumbed to the runoff from the pile of tasteless vegetables, and not too bad rice, all of which was overflowing from a deep dish platter, much better suited to serving a stew, and making it impossible to cut the lamb chops with the pressed steel knife ( i was to later learn that one was expected to eat the chop by hand, and not cut it- really?). as for the chops, ordered medium- with a nice pink center- but they came well done and too salty, at least they were tender (maybe they brined the meat?) the other entree, a gyro platter, was essentially the same unappealing mess, served on a flat platter. on the positive side, the manager seemed concerned that we did not care for our meal, though i doubt that anything will be changed, as the the place seems to pack 'em in with their approach. i just wouln't bother if you want to go some place and enjoy a well prepared greek meal, such as one used to be able to get in san pedro or laguna beach.
