genghis khan mongolian grill

let me start by saying i went to genghis khan a few years ago and left mostly unimpressed. i remember thinking my dish turned out to be unexpectedly bland, yet it cost more than i'd expected. i knew i was probably to blame for this more than anything, tho

we found hair in the food from the cook who was clearly not wearing a hair net. when i showed the manager she said....well our employees are all wearing hair nets. i showed her otherwise. she then made him wear one on his head but still neglected his very large full beard. whenever he would sweat which was always he had a rag around his neck which he would wipe his sweat with and this was over the food he was preparing.....the manager did not remove this meal from the check. i then let the waiter know also, nothing was done. needless to say we did not leave a tip. the older lady at the door stopped us and asked why we didn’t tip....i told her we found hair in the food and the manager did nothing. she then said well the waiter is the one getting the tip not the manager.....i told her if the meal had been removed we would have tipped. never going back....

food was decent, but cooks undercook the food and some ends up raw. the waitress was the worst, she didn't even know how to do simple math. very uneducated people that work here. never again.

great place! the mongolian bbq has a huge selection (even eggs if you want them!) plus a huge seafood selection. the space is warm and inviting but big enough you won't feel rushed

first impressions last a lifetime. if i was rating this on food only..i'd give them a 4.5 but this is about the entire experience. there were only 3 in our group, we went on a wednesday for lunch, and we all ordered off the the menu. our total wait time was roughly 45min. one of the persons in our party received her meal 25 minutes before the rest of us. she had the option to wait and let it get cold so she could eat at the same time as the rest of us or dine alone. no patron should have to make this choice. needless to say she was finishing her meal when the other two came out. and the last two meals were barely warm. not a good experience for our first time visiting. cannot say we'll ever go back nor recommend it for a dine in experience.

service was decent considering we were with a large group (15 people). the mongolian grill was a bit disheveled. i don't typically have to step over lots of bits of raw meat on the floor to get to my meal. there were enough bits of food on the floor to make a plate. i was impressed at the selection of proteins available like squid and scallops . the egg roll and wings were good but the "dessert bar" was just a plate of scant fruit which was not what was advertised on their website. over all the space is difficult to move around in the buffet area and it's not anything special. if i go back i will try something off of the menu.

really good mongolian bbq! way better than bds. wait staff very friendly. i enjoyed the dining atmosphere. i am so happy to finally find a mongolian bbq worth eating at in kansas city

my first restaurant when i attempted to become vegan! really good mongolian grill with a good selection of vegan food. the tofu was just the right texture for the grill. not much of a selection of desserts, but overall a good atmosphere and good price!

wow don't do it. i was told this place was better than bds but what i found was it was worse than hu hot. produce was limited and not fresh. meat was frozen. trying to make a sauce was the worst experience ever. if i wanted to make sauce from scratch i would stay home and cook. then trying to get the food cooked was another fiasco. nobody controlling the line. people cutting and cooks not helping. there was almost a fight between the two cooks because they were arguing who was working harder which would of been neither one. it was also so filthy around the grill it was hard to look at it. i highly recommend not going here. serious let down. the only plus was the egg drop soup was delicious.

delicous!. my dad, his fiance and i went here for the first time for dinner tonight. we all did the molgolin buffet, it also included appetizers, soup and dessert for $15.the food was so good i couldnt have desert, i was so full. it was fresh and cooked it how we asked for. very frilendly staff, will defintley go here again :)

fun! my first mongolian bbq, and everyone here was so nice and helpful! i didn't feel rushed or ignorant and my creations were delicious. would be a great date: an activity, meal, and conversation topic all in one. reasonably priced for a sit-down restaurant, and so welcoming that i will surely bring visitors here soon.

do not go here. i went with a group of 6 people. my friends dad paid for 4 of them. i paid for my own meal $22... when the menu said it was $15. after considering the 18% automatically included the $22 was acceptable. now less than a week later i guess they charged my friends dad an additional $35 ... and claimed i didnt pay $10 when i paid $22.98 which it was exactly. now my total cost of my $15 meal is now $32.98. be careful they will swindle money from your pockets.

bottom line, go to bd's mongolian grill.

terrible and unclean. first thing a lot of the bowls and dishes had mushy food bits on them. wish i would have seen that on my first trip through the line!!

horrible selection of sauces. the sauces i remember: sugar water, soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, ginger water, sesame oil, and vinegar. there were only about 10 "sauces" in all. i have most of the sauces in my cupboard. i could have saved a lot of money and made the same dish at home.
my husband's mongolian dish had charred bits through it (gross). don't think that side of the grill was cleaned off. he tried to order off the menu and got general's chicken. which was not spicy at all, tasted more like sesame chicken.
veggies are not fresh cut , saw them dump out a store bought bag into the food line.

we loved it!!. we have been to this place several times and the food was sensational. it took me a few times to figure out what i liked and what went well together but once you get that figured out, the sky is the limit. you can mix your own tastes and your own combinations and they cook it in front of your eyes. it is a really unique experience and we really liked it. the staff was really friendly and we enjoyed talking to them and their service. really great experience. for all that you get, which is more than any of us could eat, the price was nominal, right around twenty bucks apiece for food and drinks.

my wife and i ate here for lunch today. we were very pleased with the mongolian buffet. you definitely get your money's worth for $10. it is also vegetarian friendly. great lunch spot!
