a must if you are in san marcos..skip herbert's. this was a favorite when i went to school in san marcos. cheap great localmexicanfood. i believe thursdays are the cheese enchilada lunch special..super cheap. skip the margaritas..i know..can't believe i say that but back in the day margaritas weren't my thing. i was disappointed when i was there recently. chips and salsa are also good. not the thin greasy chips you get at a lot ofmexicanrestaurants.

the food is pretty good, but i don't see what all the fuss is about. there are many bettermexicanrestaurants in san marcos!

i really miss this place!!. it was good to visit garcia's again during my recent trip home. how i wish i could get this kind ofmexicanfood here in south carolina! but, alas, some smooth talking sales type has convinced all themexicanrestaurants around here that they need to smother every dish with some tastless white concoction made on another planet which he must sell. they call it "cheese" but the name is as close as it comes. thank you garcia's for staying true to the texmex tradition of savory food! (and if some carpetbagger arrives at your door tryingto sell his "cheese" which is popular east of the mississippi, please run him off!)

awesome. i don't expect much at a low dollar authenticmexicanfood place, but garcias delivers awesome food for excellent prices. chicken enchiladas are amazing, chips, hot sauce and guacamole also good.

can't say enough good things about this place...staff is friendly, food is great...only problem is they aren't open on mondays. (and they don't serve coke)

to start off i used to be a herberts person. but herberts has gone downhill in the recent months.garcia's has very goodmexicanfood. (better than herberts) the portions are kind of small but they make up for it with the taste. the queso is a very good appitizer, but don't over look their hot sauce, i love that stuff. i especially like the garcia's chicken fried chicken (only available in san marcos)
